Rabbi Pinchas Allouche, head Rabbi at Congregation Beth Tefillah in Scottsdale, and the host of the Rabbi Allouche podcast, joins Seth for the full hour to talk about this week's Torah portion, known as Parashat Vayera, which comes from the Biblical book of Genesis. As we head into the midterm elections next week Seth and Rabbi Allouche talk about the idea that the most important election isn't on the ballot. He reminds us that we have the power to influence our own circles and make a positive impact on the world around us. Rabbi Allouche also talks about the importance of putting our trust in God rather than men, citing the story of Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Halberstam, who was a Holocaust survivor and a remarkable human being. He shares a fascinating story about how Rabbi Halberstam made General Eisenhower wait while he finished his prayer, saying that he was speaking to the "general of generals."
