Pokret was established in Sydney during the early 1950s by post-war immigrants and veterans, to preserve the traditions and history of World War II resistance fighters, led by General Dragoljub (Draža) Mihailović.  Pokret has been integral to the many successes of the Bonnyrigg Sports Club (Serbian Centre Club Limited) including the upcoming 38th Serbian Folkloric Festival being held 7-9 August 2026.

Mick Pečić is Head of High Performance for Serbia’s national cricket team. Simo Ivetić plays for Serbia but decided to remain in Australia to await the birth of his first child. Bojan Milojević was unable to finalise Serbian citizenship in time, so missed playing for Serbia this week. Bob Kunešević is President of the Sydenham Hillside Cricket Club and past Victorian district cricketer. Anthony Alleyne is Captain-coach of the Sydenham Hillside Cricket Club and past West Indies cricketer. All guests have had international cricket experience.

Tatjana, Vik, Jovo, Jovana, Stevan ...    Stevan Tasić(16) plays basketball with Dandenong Ranges in the U18 Victorian Championships. He also plays for Berwick College, who recently represented Australia at the NBA Rising Stars Invitational in Singapore 22-28 June 2026. Stevan has also successfully represented Victoria, being crowned B League U18 International Champions in Tokyo 10-15 February 2026.

Birkan Kirdar is vice-captain of Hume City FC who has already amassed an impressive football career that has seen him represent both club and country at the highest level.
