Serbian 10-February-2024 Saturday conversation with Nikola Stanković, Author 'The Yugoslav Royal Army in Exile 1941-1948'Nikola Stanković, born in Belgrade 18 July 1994, successfully completed a Bachelor and Master of History at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade in 2020. Currently a PhD student at the Department of History, Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Niš.
Nikola’s Master thesis, 'The Yugoslav Royal Army in Exile 1941-1948' was in published in 2022 by 'Prometej', Novi Sad. It concerns the un-researched topic of the Yugoslav armed forces that were formed by the Yugoslav Royal Government in Exile in the Middle East (Egypt, Palestine, Syria and Jordan) during the Second World War.
After the end of the war, and the establishment of the communist regime in Yugoslavia, most of those who remained loyal to the King, left Egypt and emigrated to Australia in 1948.
While researching, Nikola had the opportunity to obtain numerous photographs, documents and other unpublished materials from many family archives, that are now an integral part of his book.
