Lesleigh Butler, government relations advisor at Vision Australia, chats with us about the Puppies in Parliament event held at Parliament in Canberra in September 2022. Lesleigh talks about the key issues discussed including the NDIS dog warranty, and access rights. The Puppies in Parliament event wasn't about cute puppies- conversations between Vision Australia and Seeing Eye Dogs staff and handlers and members of parliament brought light to some of the problems faced by dog guide handlers, with aim to bring solutions soon.
Kim Rulach, senior puppy development trainer, tells us all about the wonderful world of puppy caring! Seeing Eye Dogs is looking for homes for 45 puppies by Christmas in parts of Victoria and Queensland. Help us raise wonderful Seeing Eye Dogs for people who are blind and have low vision by becoming a volunteer puppy carer, or spreading the word to someone who may be able to give their time, patience and love to a puppy.

Our training is entirely one on one; it is not based on a prescriptive group or set training approach. This clearly underpins our belief in putting the client first.
