Values are important to the farm business. The farm has organically developed five pillars of production that serve as values: animal welfare, environmental stewardship, creating healing food, building community, and profitability. These values are viewed as a flywheel that continually feeds into one another, helping to drive the farm's progress. A priority is placed on animal welfare, ensuring a good environment for the animals' natural expression and using environmentally friendly management practices. The farm also aims to create healing food, build community, and achieve profitability.

Who is Jacob Wolki?

Jacob Wolki is a businessman from Albury Wodonga, Australia who comes from a family with a long history of running small businesses in the region. He started his journey in the family business 10 years ago when he was 20 years old, purchasing a local bike shop named Cycle Station with his parents. Three years later, he built a café named Café Musette, which has grown and flourished over the years. Jacob then diversified into the farming business and started Wolki Farm, a regenerative farm that produces grass-fed beef, pastured eggs, pork, chicken, raw honey, and more. He has established a butchery to process meat from his farm and others, and runs a unique QR code based butcher's shop. To support other small-scale farmers in the region, Jacob runs a monthly farmers market named Regener EAT Farmers Market at Café Musette. He is known for his quick decision-making and empowering staff, as well as promoting a healthy and community-conscious lifestyle through his businesses.

Alex Wood started Future Growers with the goal of creating a resilient food supply system by promoting local food production, using regenerative agriculture, and improving the farming sector. He is currently studying agricultural science at the University of Melbourne and aims to provide affordable and nutritionally dense food to as many people as possible while also improving the profit margins of farmers and inspiring a younger generation to enter the field.

Future Growers is my attempt at the beginning this journey, transforming parcels of land across Melbourne and its surroundings into productive, vibrant, self-sustaining, and welcoming areas that promote the idea of “Symbiosis”, and produce high-quality food, fuel, and fibre. This goal is driven by the framework of permaculture, regenerative agriculture, soil biology, and plant nutrition.

Regeneratively grown food has many benefits for consumers, including higher nutrient density and improved taste. Additionally, purchasing food grown using regenerative farming practices can support local farmers and promote sustainable agriculture. The mindset around purchasing healthy food has also been shifting in recent years, with more people becoming aware of the importance of supporting sustainable and regenerative food systems.

Matty Lansdown is a former cancer research scientist, who after years of working in hospitals and seeing the limitations of modern medicine, has become passionate about helping people achieve optimal health and wellness. Growing up in a country town and being exposed to holistic health practices, Matty has always had a blend of traditional and modern understanding of health. He has come to realize that while most people know what they should eat, the real challenge is in behaviour change and mindset around health. Matty now spends his time helping people overcome this challenge and create healthy habits that last. He also encourages people to become more literate in food, by visiting farmer's markets and treating meal prep and shopping as a sacred practice.

Matty’s extensive experience allowed him to uncover the deeper challenge people have with health which isn’t about calories or kale, but in fact mindset and behaviour change. 

Having been on his own personal development journey, Matty is now super-passionate about showing people how to level up their health so that healthy habits and the best food choices are easy and natural.
