56: Exploring the Importance of Microbes in Food and Soil with Dr. Eric Berg

View descriptionShare

In this podcast episode, host Regen Ray Milidoni speaks with Dr. Eric Berg about the importance of microbes in soil, plants, and our bodies. The conversation begins with the difficulty of finding truly nutrient-dense food in today's world, as much of what is available is heavily processed and lacking in beneficial microbes. Dr. Berg emphasizes that the microbes in the soil and in our food are essential to our health and well-being, and that it is important to consider this aspect when making food choices.

The discussion then turns to the medical profession and its approach to nutrition. Dr. Berg laments that nutrition is often given little emphasis in medical training and that the healthcare field as a whole is not focused on promoting true health and healing. He explains that this is why he covers a wide range of opposing viewpoints in his content creation, and why he has also turned his attention to farming and agriculture.

The conversation then focuses on the importance of the microbiome in food, with Dr. Berg noting that pasteurization and other forms of sterilization can remove beneficial microbes from food. He suggests that incorporating more raw foods into one's diet can be helpful, as can consuming foods grown on healthy soils that are rich in microbes. This is particularly important for vegetables, which can be a significant source of beneficial microbes.

Throughout the episode, Dr. Berg stresses the importance of the microbiome in all aspects of health and wellness, from the soil to the food we eat to our own bodies. He encourages listeners to pay more attention to this aspect of their health and to make choices that promote a healthy microbiome.
