In a year full of movie theater closures and layoffs in the Seattle area, there have also been success stories.

The Egyptian and the Varsity Theaters are both under new ownership and reopening.

And the former Arc Lodge in Columbia City opened for year-round programming as the Tasveer Film Center early this year.
