Life in prison isn’t supposed to be easy, but it could be more humane for the incarcerated and the staff. 

To that end, Washington state is looking to Norway’s prison system as a hopeful example of what might be achievable here. 

Seattle Times reporter Nina Shapiro will tell us what staff learned, and how some of it is being implemented at Washington state prisons.
