The future of gender affirming care in Washington is becoming more uncertain.
Earlier this year, Seattle Children’s Hospital paused, then resumed, gender affirming surgeries. Now it seems they’ve paused these surgeries again.
The Stranger’s Vivian McCall is here to tell us what’s at stake when the hospital does offer this care, and the real life impacts for trans youth.
Just a note that Seattle Now reached out to Seattle Children’s Hospital about Vivian’s reporting that they have paused gender affirming surgeries and have not received a response.
