The Seahawks, whose game shoe is brought to you by the first ever All e Electric Chevy Blazer Beacon Plumbing, Stop Freakin Call Beacon, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, the seahawks official medical services provider, and Louman the trusted network for AI. Once again, Here's Michael Bumpus.
The Seattle Seahawks improved to eight and five on the year. This is the Seahawks post game showing Michael Bumbles with Ray Roberts, Brian Walters and Paul Moore. Seahawks win thirty to eighteen. Geno Smith has an efficient day twenty four thirty two hundred thirty three yards and one touchdowns. Zach Sharvine big day for the young man twenty two carries, one hundred and thirty four yards and two touchdowns. Keetting back in Tosh had seven carries for thirty eight Jackson Smith and Jagoba five catches for eighty two yards. Zach Sharbone in the past game as well, seven receptions fifty nine yards a couple of turnovers by this Seahawks defense. You had an interception by Kobe Bryant another one by Ernest Jones. Second half the offense slowed down just a little bit of overallf fin ah seven to fifteen on third downs, four hundred and nine total yards, one hundred and seventy six yards on the ground. This team got it going. We got lots more to do. When we come back to the guys are gonna give it analysis.
We're gonna hear from the coach.
I he steps up to the podium, players in the locker room, and at the podium.
All that is next right on the Unpcuall Bank Radio Network.
Seahawks are now eight and five, beating the Arizona Cardinals in Arizona, thirty to eighteen. And like we always do, where it joined now by the voice of the Seahawks, Steve Rabel Raves, this was an interesting one.
The run game got going.
You should see Big Ray and how he was celebrating. He was a proud offensive lineman. What you see in the run game.
I'm not an offensive lineman, but I'm just as proud as Big Ray is.
You know. First of we were just talking about it during the break.
We always seem to save our best stuff for the break by the bye. But David and I and the way this game started and the quick throws, the getting the ball to Charbonay, and the the tosses.
Those kind of things made up for the running game.
That was the run game early on, and I think it just kind of morphed into a and effectiveness, be a confidence, and pretty soon it was just all out. I guess the kids now say they were bawling. I guess that's what they were doing. I don't know, but it was just a terrific offensive performance.
Zach Charmonay. I'm sure he's going to be.
You know, at the top of everybody's list, that on all those fantasy teams. But what a job he did today. And as he said, he couldn't have done it without the guys in front of him. The wide receivers on the outside block and you don't go fifty one without a bunch of people making blocks. So all in all, a great game plan, defense, two picks in the first half to kind of set you up on the right path to win this football game. The Seahawks came in and I don't like to say he used the word dominated, but a thirty to eighteen win was pretty convincing.
Yeah, it feels good when you look at the score and then you look at some of the things that they improved on the run game obviously, and then taking the full ball away is always nice.
Gino Smith had.
A fishing game twenty four thirty twenty thirty three yards.
He was composed. What'd you make of his performance?
No turnovers? My first thought, we got two picks. We don't turn the ball over. Gino did just what he had to do. Good throws. He missed a few guys, but there were a couple of them too that were just off the ends of fingertips that he kind of had to throw there because of tight coverage by Arizona.
So Gino did.
All in my estimation, did all the things right. Led this team did a nice job. Guys made plays for him, especially in the running side of things. At JSN, I don't know teams are going to try to double team him, but he has just been remarkable here in this season his ability and we kind of both appreciate this, and at B Walter is there too.
US receivers appreciate.
Guys like that who against double coverage or reading the zone and being able to throttle down and then accelerate at the top of the route and make plays. He's just been spectacular here in his second season, so nothing to complain about. Didn't put the ball on the ground on special teams, which was always a plus. Hey, let's come home for two and take on the Packers, who are not going to be an easy out.
Last one I got for you, Raves. We did not talk about any muff punts, drop kigs. Jalen Darting came in and had one return for twenty seven yards and one punt return for fourteen yards. Safe to say that the special teams might be fixed for the time being.
Well, I sure hope so, and I know they hope so too. But he's just what the doctor ordered. He has never had a muff punt as a professional. And I've talked to a couple of the coaches earlier today.
And they said, yeah, he's you know, he's just that kind of guy.
He's very quick on his feet and nimble, kind of a long drink of water.
He's not very big, but he's also makes guys miss.
First guy almost always misses him, and that gets you positive yards on returns. So if he can keep doing what he's doing, you know, and uphold the whole special team's end of things. Now, you've got all three phases of this football team playing complimentary football, as Mike likes to talk about. And it couldn't come at a better time. Win in four straight and heading into the Final four with the playoffs on the line, and you're now on top by two full games, owning the edge as well. It's just set up for the Seahawks to win. But don't get over confident. Let's just go out and take them.
One at a time.
Here we go.
It's a good day to be a Seahawks as always. Get home, Safety, Tim Brian Raves. I'll talk to you soon.
I will bump Thank you, sir.
All right.
The Seahawks are now ten to one to one against Arizona State Farm Stadium since twenty thirteen. We'll talk about that and more next the Seahawks win thirty eighteen.
Welcome to the Seahawks postgame show.
Michael Bumas with the fellas Big Ray, Brian Waltses and Paul Moore. The Seahawks go to Arizona. They're coming back with a w. There now eight and five, still alone at the top of the NFC West. Good performers there at Paul Moyer.
Yeah, maybe the best all round performance we've had all year. You know, offense, defense, special teams, special teams. You know obviously rived the ship from last week with all the turnovers. Defensively, god man, we just did another phenomenal job again, particularly after that opening drive where they went ten plays seventy yards. They only had three other drives where they were over fifty and two of those were their last drive.
So really good job one.
You know, third downs bottled up Kyler Murray once again, you know, slowed down. Maybe not as well against the run, but you know again, I mean this is just two games, this is five defensive games in a row. We are the hottest defense in the league. Arizona was coming into this game. We put over four hundred on them for the game, so, you know, really good again. The roles continue to develop. I thought Gino Smith was brilliant. You know, he had a really good dad to day. We talked about didn't need huge numbers, needed to be really efficient in the game, and he did. He didn't have a lot of incompletes, didn't take sacks, they only had two quarterback hits and through big rail. Talk about the offensive line because I thought we protected exceptionally well. So yeah, just you know, generally fantastic game, three, game lead over Arizona.
Now they're pretty much done.
All right, Well let's hear from the head coach Mike McDonald himself.
All right, all right, good to see everybody. Great, great team win for us.
Man.
Just the mentality that we're in right now, coming down the home stretch December football. I thought the guys were ready to play, trying to put it all together all three phases. I thought we took a step today. On special teams, I've been great. If Challe would have held onto the ball when he's done by contact, gave me a little scare. But offensively, being able to run the rock, control the tempo of the game, find some explosives in.
The running pass game.
Defensively stelling down after that first drive and made some adjustments as we went and then really you know, tried to keep it, you know, a multiple score game in the second half. So just this is a great win. Great guys, had a great mentality, great week of prep. So we got to keep stacking it and we got a you know, we got a big game coming up on prime time this this week. So excited, but we're moving forward and keep stacking wins.
What was working so well in the red game today?
Well, I thought one, we had a great plan. Hats off to the offsive line. I mean I thought they bucked their tails off. I think I think what you're seeing is just continual progress on all of our processes and our guys kind of getting on the same page. And uh, hopefully this is something that well, it is something that we need to build off of moving forward.
But guys did a great job.
And then Armonage is the way you stepped up, filled.
Up for Kenny. Oh yeah, exactly, did a great job.
Gave me a game ball, gave the offensive line a game ball, just ran really physical and stuff to tackle that guy in the open field.
You know he's got speed and power. So excited for him.
He's not going to show up in the box, coach. But Derek Hall three holds today.
Yeah, the first one was right before Jones interception.
How big were those plays in.
The scheme and things?
Just getting it behind the sticks is the great.
Yeah, we're fortunate on some of the penalties that went back, but you know, if you look at him, those are not necessarily unforced errors. Those are to your point, our guys playing the right way. So Derek's had a great season. He's a he's a very physical player and plays his plays the absolute tail off. So even the short yardage play, you know, they they creased this there at the sea gap and character the holding there where he probably would have made the play. So those are two two huge games or plays going into the game.
Have been struggling a little bit lately. Can you talk about the good Brian, the work that Rich Grubb he has gotten up, all those guys have been doing.
Yeah, it's going.
Yeah, they deserve a lot of credit, you know.
I just I have been saying for weeks we're going, we're working on this thing. So we're working through all the processes. By no stretch of the imagination are we have we made it. But it's great to kind of get a breakthrough on productivity on how we want a play.
I thought Grub called the great game and Olmer we go.
You know, so I think now we can hopefully we just generate some more confidence for us and the things that we've been doing and the inputs that we're putting in. But I thought we played a complimentary game today. The ball wasn't in jeopardy. Uh Gino didn't take any sacks, and so that's what's gonna take to win, especially late.
In the year.
About today that even when you knew Ken couldn't go, that you're gonna stick with the plan and run Zach.
The way he did.
Well, Well, I mean, you know, Ken's obviously a dynamite back and we would have loved to have him, but so was Zach and Kenny McIntosh has proved that he can run the.
Ball effectively as well.
So we didn't feel like we need to make any any adjustments obviously that first rate to get.
A big play.
Outside of that, his printing dominion before its contents, the most significant change in the last few games.
Well yeah, we I mean again, similar to the offense, I think the curve just happened a little bit earlier. This is a it's a room for guys and full of men that just decided that we're gonna stick together, do it together, prepare our tails off throughout the week, stay poised, and we decided we want to play a certain way, and so when it shows up on tape, and when it doesn't show up on tape, then you know it sticks. Out like the sore thumb, and our guys are starting to, you know, step up as leaders too, where we're there feeling confident and talking to the group and taking ownership of what shows up on tape.
So, uh, we got to keep building.
Season high and rushing yards. I think was only head twice. Just was that got your offensive line today that way?
Yeah, I mean I thought they probably their best game to date. But Gino deserves a lot of credit too. I mean, he's playing really decisive, really accurate. There's a lot of big time throws going on out there, especially in critical.
Moments at the end of the game.
Maybe it's multiple multiple score game, but that can change in a blink of an eye. And so to try to keep moving the sticks on some of those second down throws where it kept drives going, that was a that was big time. And then being able to manage the clock and all the situations. He's just doing it. He's doing a tremendous job right now.
You guys had to shuffle your offensive line quite a bit earlier in the year.
When you say that guys.
Have gotten on the same page in the run game, how much is just the offensive lineman getting used to play.
Yeah, man, it's great to.
Go two games in a row with the same five guys. I think you see the same thing. Just anytime you have continuity and you can stack reps. That's important.
Now, sometimes you got to make necessary adjustments or guys go down, guys got to step up, which has happened throughout the season.
But it's been great to get two.
Weeks in a row where you know, same five guys are out there and they can build off of these performances.
The offensive line, playets, moving the ball in the air, with the ball in the droughts.
Getting two interceptions, getting the quarterback, and John's cops all of a sudden, does.
Just feel like here is complete game of tops upon him.
I think, yeah, probably probably.
That's something that we've been really focusing on, trying to really play complimentary.
Football three phases together. Tilting field.
I mean, this is a really good football team, and if you're not careful, they can kind of squeeze the life out of you with how they control, possess the ball, explosives, tilt the field position. So those are things that you need to Those are battles kind of games within the game that you have to win.
In order to beat a team like this, and our guys did that.
Has an interception of both games against Arizona to talk about what he didn't bring in.
Well, he sailed their tail on that one. I mean we we had a coverage bus actually on that one. So having a post safety that can erase some things. It's a huge I mean, it's you need those guys. So he's playing at a high level right now, and we're communicating really well.
And I'm really.
Happy for Kobe because he's he's he's worked extremely hard to prepare himself and really master what we're asking him to do.
So he's doing a great job.
I'm sure.
Yeah, I just saw him walking in here.
I mean, I mean, how about that.
I mean the week of like of all time, this week has been been in it's but uh uh, it became kind of it became clear today actually that Dicko was going to be able to go and and man, he punted his tail. I mean really talking about flipping field position and playing complementary football, you know, he's can't imagine anybody doing it better.
Than he does.
Like a good birthday president for Jack.
One day, I'll tell him about this week and it'll be good.
Maybe a bedtime story one day.
Going back to your first year in Baltimore, as in DC twenty twenty two, through weeks one through eight, you guys were twenty third in the league in terms of defensive just the defense allowing points. From weeks nine through the rest of the season, you were number one in the NFL this year.
The eighth game was Buffalo. At that time, you sat around twenty first. Since then, you're thirteen a half points a game, which I believe came in the weekend. At second, I know you touched on the mindset, but what other traits and attributes about what you install and what you do defensively.
Kind of fits in your mind?
Why it might hit at about the half of half season mark.
In your first year, I'm not sure.
I mean, I don't want it to be taking a shift like that. You don't want to be giving up points at any point.
Uh.
Trading for rokwand Smith helped in Baltimore, and then I think, you know, speaking that, I just think, like the there's a lot of parallels because we traded for Earnest and I understand that, but you know, it's a new we're a new staff. The new players. This is the first time we've heard everything. I've learned a lot on the job about what works, what doesn't work, what we can execute at.
A high level, what our guys are good at. All of our.
Coaches are working extremely hard to stay connected and to move forward, and uh, I'm glad that it's start. You know, it's it's coming together and we got to keep billing on it. In order to do that, you need to have urgency, you know, every day bringing it and enjoy the process. I mean, it's a fun process building a team, and I'm having guys buy in and things like that. I mean, but it takes a lot of work, and so our you know, our our coaches and our players there's a little deserve a lot of credit.
For having that faith and saying, hey, you know.
We're not necessarily getting the results that we want right now, but we can see some really cool things on tape, and there's things where we can there's opportunities for us to really grow here, and if we stick to it and stay together, then you know, then really the sky's the limit for us.
We really believe that. So everybody else there's a lot of credit.
M good that sequence where you.
Not only get the two picks, but then convert them into quick touchdowns. How does that change feel the game when you're family?
Well, I mean, and I mean we're a broken record. This is the cliche of a lifetime, but it's true. I mean, the turnof our margin is huge, and then to do it in positive territory for our offense. Then what a great play by Jackson and Dino on the sudden change touchdown.
So we needed it.
I mean, we had we had a slow start on defense, and you know, we kind of made it right on defense to be able to affect the ball and put our position, our offense in position to go get a couple of scores.
What's the early reh on ken Walker his chances to be back this week?
Not sure, not sure. We'll work through it right now, but we're not sure.
You five one on the road and talk about what that said, the character the team, and what you saw from the traveling Seahawks fans here more.
Twelves deserves a lot credit. Man, they were loud.
I think we had them on silent cadence for the majority of the game. So, man, what an awesome atmosphere to shout out to everybody showing up being loud. It was an awesome atmosphere and we're lucky, man. I mean, we got the best fans in.
That was cool. That was that was cool. So here we thank you, great man.
All right, that was your head coach, Mike McDonald's. Hawks fans celebrate Blue Friday at your local Western Washington McDonald's. Get a free medium fries with any one dollar purchase every Blue Friday and only on the McDonald's app. All right, more to do when we come back, We're gonna break this thing down with the guys here. That's next on the Umpquah Bank Radio Network. Seahawks win thirty to eighteen in Arizona. Geno Smith was twenty four thirty two hundred and thirty three yards and one touchdown.
He's at the podium now.
Good ever, Yeah, no.
Sacks only hit twice season high rushing yards have.
Offered to run, dude. I thought they played normal. The way they play, we can win every game we played, man. I think our offensive line is is only getting better. We got some young guys out there who are stepping in and stepping up. I thought the Tower played the great game and then obviously getting aid back. Man, it's been it's been a benefit for our offense. So yeah, they gotta keep it up. They gotta keep it up. They set the standards, so they gotta keep it up. How did you feel impacting your rebellion to go like Jets.
Touched out there.
Yeah, looks like they were going to go home. That's something the first match up because these guys.
Yeah, I think the run game played a part, but also just thought our line played terrific. You know, I thought the past protection was awesome. Like you said, only two hits, no sacks. Anytime you get to sit back there as a quarterback and not get touched, man, it allows you to go through those reasons. You know, your your clock is a little bit slower because you know those guys are gonna hold up. And so I thought, you know, Grub called a great game, but I'll thought the line just they powered us through this game and they're gon, we're gonna need him down the stretch.
You know, Mike talked a lot about the completory football. In fact, you guys got some interceptions and converted the touchdowns right away.
How did you feel up the balance.
The entire team?
That was huge? You know, We talk about that all the time. Mike talks about that about how we wanna play as a team and complimentary football is the main thing. And I thought just the way that you know, we came out on offense right after they scored, you know, got points, wanted to score a touchdown there but ended up getting three. Then we go right back, defense goes out, get a turnover, we go get seven, they get another turnover. We to you know, take make it a two score game. You know, those are the things that you need in order to to game momentimum, to really close these games out, you know, and down the stretcher.
You talking about the catch from JS and just the public ground there.
That was an amazing catch. You know, kind of got hit right there, a little bit. Wish I could have hit him astride. If I would have, man, he'd have scored on that one. But that's why he's Jackson man. That's why he's JS. And he does a great job. He's he's one of the better receivers in the league. He's really developing into his own right now. And you know, if I gotta do better for him and get him that ball so he can go score the game.
Uh.
Today, I thought Greb was outstanding, just you know, the calmness and the play calls coming in. He was very clear and concise with what he wanted to do. He we had a plan, We had a great game plan going in and I thought we executed, you know, and I thought Grub called the game. He was confident, he took shots when he needed to. He uh, he managed the clock when he needed to. And you know, Grabuh he's one of those guys. Man, He's a really good oct he's stuck with Yeah, I think I think it's our team. In the demeanor of our team, We've had, you know, a bunch of different guys step up for our team throughout the year. And that's just you know, as a result of coaching really and culture. You know, it starts with the coaching though. The coaching staff does a great job at making sure guys are prepared and all the guys, you know, not just the starters. And then you know, when you when you you get guys who step in and step up. Man, Zach's always been a great player. He's had so many tremendous games for us, and uh, we knew, you know, we're confident him the entire time. You know, we know what Zach can do. Obviously, we love can and we you know, wish him a speedy recovery. But you know, Zach's one of our guys. Man, He's gonna continue to get better and we're gonna lean on him.
We're in playoff, so he's so long you know, whether it's that's sustainable for real long for some time, that mental.
Yeah, that's yeah, that's gotta be the mantra. I want to know every week, you know, and that's something that you know, you gotta develop that as a team. When guys are saying we're in playoff mode, yeah, that's every single game. Uh, similar to what Coach Carroll used to talk about. You know, every game is a championship game and if you really take that approach, when you get to the big game, it won't it won't feel different. So I think we're developing it as a team. And I think the mindset is what's really you know, setting us apart right now with that since confidence that just keeps, especially you know if he's kind of yeah you're talking about not Yeah, We're always gonna be confident and one another, Like I'll tell the guys man, it's one of the closest teams I've ever been on. Everybody pulling in the right direction, everyone pulling together, and uh that's the reason why we can, you know, sustain, Like you said, these you know, these wins, and it doesn't matter, you know, who we play, where we play. All that matters is that we do it together. And I think as long as we continue to do that, man will be all right for development.
The last couple of weeks, that last week and or game first to get about the second.
Half of those gap schemes, the jew schemes.
Yeah, do you feel like these last few weeks got you start to see that identity start?
Yeah, yeah, and we would love to continue to build it. You know, we want to be multiple and we want to have multiple answers. And you know, today was the gap schemes. You know, the way they were playing us with the three down stuff, and you know they've got three safeties kind of like a three three five defense. If you pull a guy and you pin one, you're up on the back linebackers pretty quickly. So, uh, just it's depending on you know, the front we're facing, the defense we're facing. But today the gap scheme worked really well for us.
You guys are five on the road. You talk about what what about your game, the team's game that travels so well.
I think just you know the closeness of our team, and I think our coaches do a great job at preparing us no matter where we go. We do a great job at traveling. You know, we travel the most in the league. And uh, I think, guys, the mentality is, no matter what, you know, we're going to win and we're going to play and it doesn't matter how we get there, it doesn't matter where we're at. Everyone's buying in. And that's the biggest part.
To feel a little bit like a home game today.
With it did me. I thought our fans traveled really well. They were allowed like in the pre game, and I think that gave us some confidence too. Just looking up and seeing all the twelves in the building gave us a lot of confidence. And you know, we we need them to continue to that. I can't wait for this this next game at home.
Well, obviously you know special teams are reported, but to see that so completely with you know, Dixon putting him insight the tann a couple of times they had a missfield goal.
They had enough fun to see it so demonstrated. And your guys with what is that to say about?
Yeah, I think we got the best punter in the league, man, Mike. He's been consistent. I've been here, he's been consistently one of the best. And then yeah, I mean when we could force those guys to miss field goals. When we can you know, make them up punts and you know, allow us to play clean and they make the mistakes, we're gonna put ourselves in a really good position. So we want to continue that. We want to play clean football and complementary football as well.
Check in particular that up.
Yeah, I just think you know, the way teams are playing us. We got really good receivers, really good tight ends. Guys don't want to play us and man for the most part, and that's fine. You know, we'll just be smart, be efficient and you know, take what they give us and stay on schedule. As long as we do that, you know we'll be able to move the chains and get points. After the game, get to the weight room, get ready for next week.
There.
Yeah, yeah, we like to have especially after winds, so we gotta keep it going. Thank you guys.
That was Geno Smith.
Our quarterback review was brought to you by T Mobile Exclusive. While his partner of the Seattle Seahawks do you know how to inefficient?
Day?
He seemed like he was in complete control of the situation, completing what near eighty percent or almost are eighty percent of his passes on the day found jaysin for a big score, big grea.
What do you make of Gino No?
I just love the way he kind of commanded the game today. He'd like coach McDonald said in his press or that you know, he didn't put the ball in harm's way. Looks like he got the team into some good plays when he was audibling and changing the play at the line of scrimmage. And he played with a good composure today, So the pocket was pretty clean for him to kind of step up.
And make some some throws when he needed to.
And then, like he said, man, they just got that running game going and it just kind of opens up everything else. It makes a lot of things a lot easier to exico on offense where you can get the running game going.
Yeah, you know, you look at this offense and how they performed today and you go through all the things coming in to this game.
We were worried about, and you go to the turnovers.
You know, Geno has been criticized for his turnovers a little bit, and then the sacks. Sacks have been a little bit lopsided here and there. Then you go to the short yardage situations. They've been terrible going into this game. And then what happened today. No turnovers, no acts. There were five for six on short yarded situations. Two of those Noah Fan had the completion the first drive of the game. He extended two of them, sharping and ran the ball hard on those. So what you're doing, you're looking for these improvements and finally this team putting it together and offensively all these question marks we had.
And here's the most important thing.
Actually, there's no play that we sat there and scratched our head and was like, huh, what was that? You know, like, no snaps over the head, no things that are killing that shooting you in the foot. These last few games you didn't see any of that. So you finally saw the offense, you know, play a complete game and special teams wise, Bump, like we talked about, you don't want to talk. You don't talk about the two foot puts. You miss unless you miss them. We made them all to day. We weren't talking about especially.
It was fine, So just a good performance all round. Well, let's hear from a man who had himself a good day. Ernest Jones is at the podium.
Serious.
I think defensively.
Just makes something where But the team, like our our units, just coming closer as a as a brotherhood, as as a friendship. But we're also out there just playing relentless, playing each play like its own, not really worrying about what's you know, happening or what what's the outcome of players which just going hard.
A couple of big hits today.
Oh yeah, that's my guy.
Man, he's balling, man, young guy playing some great football.
Man.
I'm excited about his career. And you know, us continue to grow together with Bobby or.
You're taking some of the lessons from that when you were the young guy trying to pass.
He does a great job, man, he he We're always together in the building, always watching him together, so we see the see the game in the same lens. So it's easy with us too, cause we're kind of like the same person almost.
How about your interception? Can you take us through that.
Yeah, I dropped in my hook and turned.
As soon as I turned around and like, look for the ball, it was there and I'm like, there's no way, Like there's not. Yeah, so it it kind of caught me off guard, but yeah, I'm glad I called it this time instead of dropping it like I did in the RAMS game.
Are you surprised through that?
I was not surprised because like I knew the routes or anything.
I just didn't.
I mean, it was like kind of right to me, So I just didn't know what he's seen or what. But you know, it happens four straight runs after where your guys were. I think for us, I mean, we've been living in the like we call it the death zone. We've been living in that for the last four games. Each game is the playoff game in our eyes, and we're we've been in the playoffs four or five weeks now. Just continue to win these games and each game is a new game for us. So we got a good ponemic, a really good opponent opponent coming in, and you know, we gotta go out there and win and put us in a great position and keep going and playing the playoffs.
All the way to win him the Super Bowl.
Of course, there's a.
Mentality of that sustainable for two months to.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it just depends on the guys you got in that locker room, and I think we got the right guys you. Of course, when it gets the playoff games just do or die. So at that point it's really you know, was heighten. Everybody knows it. Then it's it's one play you could win, one play you could lose. So we're ready, We're locked in, and we're just gonna keep going.
Final Arizona drive clocks.
Right now, game is pretty much in hand, but you can tell you guys still really caring about keeping them that names on.
That understand we didn't we didn't want him to score. Didn't want to.
We want to be dominant, and you can't just be dominant in certain times. You gotta be dominant throughout the game. So that's one of those things we work on.
What do you like about the way Kobe Bryan.
I mean shoot everything.
It's communication, the way he's just relentless to the ball. I mean, you feel real comfortable in the back end knowing that him and you know Jay Love's back there, so he's a baller.
He's a baller. He's a baller.
How does that comfort a little?
With Yella?
Kobe?
Affected?
With you?
Entirees play to.
Tell that they got their their communication, their own you know, connection, which it just feeds down to the rest of the team and me and to night. You know, we go go with no worries, knowing that they're gonna communicate that all we have to do is, you know, stay stout in the run and then get give, give up, get back in our zones to give them help and they're gonna handle the rest.
Craig McDonald, you play calling and having him in your headset what you like?
Man, It's I wish y'all could have a day in the life of being in the head sad. It's it's fun. It's fun. He's always talking to me. I always say he's it's almost like he's the first DC I've had that's been in the game with us. Like it's like he's playing linebacker right next to us. He sees it and out through our lens and he kind of expects knows what's coming next, and he's been great at it.
What makes it different than other Yeah, just.
Kind of like I said, I just think he's it almost feels like he's in the game with us. Like you know, when we're out there playing football, we start getting tennessees from what the offense is doing by demeanors, and of course he's on the sideline, so he doesn't get all that, but he's somehow, he's he's been spot on with calls and he's been doing a hell of a job, which that.
Helping the transitions coming over in mid season.
When you got that voice and voice in the head satay this guy, I mean.
It was definitely helpful.
I mean we always joking the line back room, like five six coaches on that staff's coach linebacker. So anytime we do anything in practice, we get coached like seven times because everybody sees it and wants to correct it. So we get coached a lot, and you know, we've been able to go out there and make plays and help this team.
You got back to back turnovers.
The league as did too, you know, deficit into a double digit lead, but you feel like, you know, you were kind of suffocatting them.
They didn't really do much for another couple of quarters after that.
Yeah, for sure, I mean we we we knew coming into this game that you know, they as far as what they've said that they didn't like the way the last game went for them, and they were coming out hungry. And we knew coming into the game. Once we get on, like get up and get a lead on and we go jump on them and we put them, put them out of misery.
In a sense, Willen has been begging for an o PI for.
A yes, yes, him, the referees, everybody heard it.
He was.
He was excited about that one.
Anything else, thanks good than all right?
That was Ernest Jones. Do you want to see Blue Thunder and the Seahawks answers perform up close? You're looking to watch all the early NFL games and listen to our pregame show live or playing the game in zone? Then ticket Master tailgating the lumingfield de Vince Center should be a part of your game day routine, so been three hours before kick. Also, bring the whole family and experience the excitement. Let's go back to the podium here from JSM.
How close was that ballad in the ground.
I haven't seen a replay, so I really don't know, but.
You could probably tell me better. I don't don't really know how close it was.
Do you work on hand strength to be able to hold the ball like that that locally ground.
Yes, sir, hand strength, all that stuff. Yeah, just strengthening my whole body. Just trying to be the best I can be. And yeah, do some of that work.
Just seeing the run game get came like in the day with that do for you guys as in the offense, seeing the run game get go.
Oh man, I mean run the ball. You gotta run the ball, you know if you want to be a great offense. And you know that's something we emphasize. And you know we executed today.
Catch well why not just die? Most guys would die.
Yeah, I feel like I could.
I could catch it and you know, do something with it, you know, honestly, Uh, you know I've seen that ball before and you know, just just just got to catch it. And you know I did that and you know, try to get some more yards. Honestly, talk about your touchdown.
Touchdown?
Uh, you know, it was a It was a great scheme by coach Grubb. Got on the safety, you know, he was on his heels and then just broke to the corner. Gin know, put in the right place when.
You have a safety and you know that your opportunity to chance.
Yes, sir, that was the play we've you know, practiced a lot in practice and and then and it came to fruition and it was good.
Coach Grubs play home today.
I thought it was I thought it was good. You know, we score points, We moved the ball. You know, I feel like still got you know, some things to figure out and execute on the players in and you know, it was a good day for us.
Can you be on the field like a big momentum? S Wait when you get the pick and then touchdown the next play?
Oh yeah, boom, Yeah. I felt like that was huge for us.
And you know we want to turn those picks, you know, into touchdowns and you know it's good execution.
Your defense has obviously been surging for a while.
Your run game came a lot today.
What would it mean to have that.
Consistently working for your offense to complement everything else you guys.
Do, I mean, it would be great.
You know, we feel like we would be the best team you know, in the league. And you know, having the receivers that we have, have no line in running back, I mean, you know, we feel you know that no one can stop us but ourselves.
You guys, want team have lost five out of six, that's one four in a row, has control of the division of the hottest teams in the league.
What's the move?
I mean, we feel good right now.
We want to you know, first prove ourselves right and improve everybody else wrong. You know, we feel like we have the team to do it this year, and you know we we're hungry.
Came in with sharp Nan said draft class to see him get this opportunity with Ken Walker out and then.
Just do what he did with that.
How happier.
Yeah, he's a baller, man, He's a baller you know, great to have him. You know, he's a he's a great player. And any Toms balls in his hands, he's gonna, you know, do what he does.
Anything else.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
That was the young man that JSN had himself. Another solid day at the office. All right, let's past ten seconds to give our network stations a chance to identify themselves here on the up Quad Bank Radio Network. Big win for the Seahawks down in the desert, beating the.
Cardinals thirty to eighteen.
On Michael Bumbas with Ray Roberts, Paul Moyre, and Brian Walters. The Hawks four hundred and nine yards of offense, one hundred and seventy six yards rushing seven for fifteen on third downs. Paul Moyer, I saw you with a piece of paper with the calculator crunching numbers.
What you got for me?
I was just trying to find something.
I mean, basically, we won every statistical metrics in there. I mean more yards. We bottled them up. I thought one of the again, I always look at big plays. They had the one touchdown which was forty or forty one yards on Kobe Bryant. They only had one play over twenty yards the rest of the game. I mean, this is an explosive offense. I mean you've got Harrison Junior obviously, Murray Connor.
I mean they're.
I mean that's just a talented team. I mean McBride fourteen targets, only seven receptions, so he did some adjustments there. I mean it took till the second half for he finally got a catch, only averaged ten yards. His long was fourteen. So they only had one pass play over twenty yards. That was the forty one yard touchdown. They didn't have another twenty yard pass the rest of the game. That's unbelievable. I mean the whole Arizona to twenty four points in two games total. You know this defense is feeling it right now.
Yeah.
The thing I liked is that, like I said at halftime back at the San Francisco game, I started to see like this idea around these double teams where they were getting being very productive, but there would be someone else that may break down the play didn't work, thinking like, man, they're not going to get to take advantage of these double teams. But in this gap scheme that we saw today where there's a lot of penn and pull, which they hadn't done very well, but it seems like they know who should be doing the pinning and they know who should be doing the Polland le Maya is a very good athletic guard. He's able to get out and block on the running, doesn't miss many blocks when he does that. And then Abe is a good solid block on the run as well, And so they're able to kind of dress it up a couple different ways. A couple of times they pulled the backside guard and tackle. Sometimes there's the center and the guard or the center and the tackle. But they did this idea of pinning and polland they've kind of found they've they've kind of found a little rhythm with it over the last couple of weeks just in the blocking of it. Today they got production out of the running of it because there were more people doing the right thing. So it was really cool to see. And as an offensive lineman, man, when you talk about playing physical football, there is really no more physical play.
Than that one.
And so that's why it was important, you know, it almost as important. But the fact that Sharbonnay got to take those runs, those are the types of runs that fit him, and those are the types of blocks that this offensive line can execute at a higher level.
I don't know if I've seen improvement like I have with the offensive line from the last time you play the Cardinals two weeks ago to where they went now, just considering, you know, today, two QB hits on Gino, that's it. That's it, and then you run for one hundred and seventy six yards. When you go back two weeks ago to what happened. Five sacks, six QB hits, he only ran for fifty yards. What was sixty yards two weeks ago? So whatever, the offensive line has found, whatever they have done, whatever they've done prep the adjustments that you're talking about, Big Ray, I mean, just hats off to them.
They were the game changers today.
Defense a little disappointed them the streaks over of touchdowns scored with US and scot one. But I mean it's so cool though, because the defense is so involved in such a huge part in scoring, in the scoring for this team, which I mean they set up two scores with the two interceptions and the offense got two of the touchdowns off those.
So the defense just continues to make changes.
Yeah, they weren't as dominant as they have been, you know, as far as numbers. You know, Arizona's still got their numbers, still rush for over one hundred yards, that kind of thing. But man, they just are. They still are game changers and they still make the big plays when needed. And so the defense, the offensive line are the just really really fun to see them come together today.
Yeah, I mean four game win streak. Uh, you know, think about it.
We we gotten beat up pretty good by Buffalo. You know, we had a losing record at that point. We were like, oh, man. You know, we played Arizona, you know, three weeks ago, two weeks but you know, three games ago now after this one, and they were the hottest team in the league. They had won four games in a row. And we've completely flipped the script on this thing.
And we flipped it, you.
Know, to me, it started with the Ram Game. Actually maybe it was the Ram game Buffalo. We got beat up thirty to fourteen. The Ram Game, we lost the game we should have won. That was to me the turning point defensively for us. But you know, the last five games defensively, you know, we kept saying this. I think this is sustainable. I feel like, okay, it's not just a we didn't do this quick fix anymore. We really understand the roles and now we're able to turn you know McDonald into defense loose where they take calculated risks. I didn't see as many today where you know, we were just letting guys go free, saying we think they're going to throw it to this side of the field. I thought there was much more fundamental. We're going to play just defense and get after them. But I look, when's the last time. I mean, it's been a long time where it's just consistent pass rush too.
Kyler was not sitting there.
Holding the ball, couldn't see long developing plays happen, and if there was someone open, which at times there were, he didn't have time to make that throw. So this is playoff football where you don't turn the football over. You play, you know, offensively, and you play fantastic defense, you know, to hold these guys.
You know, they end up getting three hundred and.
Fifty of garbage yards to me, you know that we held them to one hundred and forty or fifty in the first half. They were at three h nine, you know, until their final drive. So I just you know, really really good stuff.
Man.
They should be they should be excited. And we got some tough games coming up, and we got Green Bay, we got Minnesota. We got to finish, you know, at the end of the year with the Rams, which is probably gonna come down to that. The Rams are just that team you can't quite put away. But yeah, this this feels good, good.
Win for the Seahawks. Like I said, I'm proving to eight and five. Got some tough games coming up, Say, twelves, we need you to get loud. The Seahawks are back under the arches at Luomenfield Sunday, December fifteenth to take on the Green Bay Packers. Get in on the action and secure your seats now at seahawks dot com slash tickets. All right, when we come back, we'll hear from Tyree's Night and tenn and oilsu with Jen Mieller.
That's next. Seahawks win thirty eighteen.
Around the NFL with Curtis Rogers, Bills and Rams.
Buffalo, once trailed by as many as seventeen, Josh Allen got his guys to within a field goal after this touchdown throw.
To Mac collins Y set up glitz Ala season full two a touchdown time.
Bill's now needing just one stop with over seven minutes to play to have a chance to win this one, but La led the clock. A big factor in that was his fourth down pickup to two two out well.
Four thou stop, good looking flip forty.
Down and then one play later Pooka Nakula on the bubble screen took at the distance and put this one out of reach.
It Glitz Stafford seas it step.
Bills did add a late touchdown, but it wasn't enough, as the Rams recovered the on side kick La victorious forty four forty two despite Josh Allen's six total touchdowns. Their game back of Sea Attle at seven and five, Bill's faul to ten and three, and they have a huge game against the Lions next Sunday. Bears at forty nine Ers. Brock Party could not be stopped by Chicago's defense today twenty of twenty five for three to twenty five and a pair of touchdowns both going to Juwan Jennings go.
Down car Cuttings suck a touchdown.
Of the Gay.
It was all San Fran today. Even fourth string running back Patrick Taylor got in on.
The Scorings Taylor touchdown teller.
Some good for Chicago roma Dunes.
They did find the end zone twice with the forty nine Ers blow out the Bears thirty eight thirteen. They'll host the Rams on Thursday Night Football in a game of much interest to the Seahawks in that NFC West Race. Let's go back to our guys from more postgame reaction to Sea How's thirty eighteen win over the Cards.
Here's your host, Michael Bumpis.
Thank you Curtis for that scoreboard of day. Let's go to the locker room Jim Muller caught up with Tyre's Knight.
Yeah.
So we're looking at the status sheet and you point out it is the first time you have read the team in tackles.
What does that feel like for you?
If we're honestly feel like I'm getting back to my form. You know, I'm always used to leading my team in Chacola. So the last couple of weeks, you know, butdy j Van being is so, aren't you glad?
I got that head the only day?
How much has he helped you out, either by the way he communicates, the way he based work together, or how he's setting up place for ya.
Oh, you know he ain't banned at home buff for sure.
You know already up my game, and I appreciate that he did not, as you know before his comment.
So everybody on the same day and on stuff at the offense, so you've already been in my gun back.
All right, Let's continue talking about Burst then and the way he makes on Kyler Burrish.
I think it's more than fifty third and fifteen.
You know, it's wore down territory.
He's closing spend on Furry.
What impressed you about that?
Place.
I ain't really impressed me, though I've been saying he really liked that since he got here. You know, honestly, throughout the whole week we watched film, we knew Kyler Murray a lot, just third and stuff.
So I'll coach was the inconsiders running through the hill? Agent?
Did what are you supposed to do that?
Do you think de Marcado is regretting his decision to catch that pass after your level?
Then?
Yeah, because you know, honestly it ain't even were in the game on yard a third place. I know you probably felt like you should have droped the ball, but now I appreciated me and catching it and they would get my hair.
I also feel like you were so close to an interception today. Did I misread that when I felt like you jumped and you were so close to getting one.
Right, If you threw it a couple of inches lower, I could have got my hand on that. You had to fled it down for me.
But you know everything recovering Okay.
You also were in coverage against Marvin Harrison.
What is the challenge of trying to.
Keep him in check?
I ain't no challenge.
I like me once I get back in my molde to get back comfor to behind now I was playing last year.
Ain't nobody came.
Out in front of me in this whole game. My costadman Bryan that lay back him company side.
Lastly, the interceptions at the beginning.
Of the game. That was huge.
But was it just me or were you guys kind of just treating.
That as business as usual on the sideline?
Business is the last couple of weeks, I go to the Today man taking them all the way anild ministry, so you nantasize five turners a day and edulating day in Venetia.
And that's what he did in the vag Yeah and again Tyres Night leads for the team in tackles very celebratory locker room down here bump as we get that.
Back to you.
Thank you, Jen Tyree snipe man. He's got an opportunity. He's doing a great job with him. The Luminfield twenty twenty five concert lineup is coming soon. Don't miss a beat with Luminfield text alerts. Text Concerts to three zero two three four, that's Concerts to three zero two three four to be the first to know about concert pre sales, tickets on sale, event details and more. All right, let's go back to the locker room. Jim, you York caught up with Jenna and Wilson.
I couldn't help but notice the emotion after you were in on a tackle today. What was your level of excitement over being back on the field.
I just felt good to be out there do what I love to be here football.
You know, so I was excited.
Process with very long, you know, a couple of setbacks, you know, so it's stay strong.
I was like, gonna come back?
How do you work your way back into a rotation that is this deep? But I know they need your help, but it seems like maybe that gets a little.
Tricky, Well not tricky all.
You know.
We all play off each other. We'll feed off each other, you know. That's the type of route that we have where everybody's apt to each other. When one guy goes in make up pay, we all celebrate, you know. So you want to see each other un and you will be successful.
What does the balance you have to strike with Kyler Murray and wanting to get there quickly but not over pursuing.
Yeah, that's that's exactly what you said.
If you can't over pursue you know, you have to.
Collapse up off with them in you know, he's good at scrambling and being.
On the move.
So that was the point of emphasis this week was we're trying to corrut him, keeping us contained as possible for the most.
Probably a good job.
Did you notice him getting a little gun shy in the first half after those two interceptions?
I mean, I mean, yeah, I didn't notice it that.
You know, we were able to make plays on as on those balls, you know, code shots, the code shots each other. You are doing a great job and coverage trusting, which is very a big place.
You know, they weren't really able to get yards in the first half, second half though it was a long drive of the third quarter of what happened there, you know.
They're just I guess they you know, they had a sense of urgency on their part, you know, shout out to them.
You know, it's football.
You know we expect teams, you know, be able to bounce back.
We gotta do a better job on defense.
You know, we should have expected that. We did expect that.
I mean, we sually got to do a better job and stopping them.
I feel like it was really complimentary offense and defense today. What did you see in that first quarter when the defense or offense capitalized on the interceptions.
It's just such stuff that we practice and preached a week, you know, being playing together as more unit offense, defense and specialties. Was to see them going back and getting that touchdown right out of the j's interception is huge and pig Mo mentship and needed it.
And you know, to be practiced when we preach it keeps you in the driver's seat in the NFC West.
What does that mean to the team?
Means great, means it means a lot.
Honestly, nobody here has one division title except probably lock It, you know, but you know, guys are hungry, Guys want to compete in just some other road and it's what we're trying to get.
And the Seahawks do.
Improved to five and one on the road this season. Bump as we get that back to you.
Thank you, Jen I was Jenah Wills who had one tackle today? Why don't you be hit? Wasn't really what I saw him on out there early in the game.
I'm not sure what his his pitchcount was, if he was on a pitch count, but it was nice to have him back in the mix.
Did anybody get eyes on Jenna.
Yeah, early in the game, I watched him a little bit. You know, he looked like he was trying to find his way. But I think the big win for him is that he got in the game and out of the game healthyest. So now he has some confidence, you know, you know, working through those injuries and playing you know, through the rehab and all that kind of stuff, and so I think he'll be able to cut it loose this next week.
Yeah, I don't know.
I didn't see him in a lot because I saw Jerk coll and Mathey and a bunch and I also saw Draymond Jones and a bunch of those. Three of the most, I saw his number more than I saw him.
You know.
It's more like, oh, there's the play, after the play and I said, oh, there he is walking around.
So again, you know what, right now, we he's a luxury for us. E'sn back in.
He's a really good football player, but we've got three other guys who are playing at a pretty high level.
Yeah, the big news is him getting out of their healthy. That's huge for him, big win mentally for him, I'm sure too. Just no matter what No matter what kind of plays he made, Obviously, he wasn't in there all the time. So that's just for any anyone who spend any time injured and been keeps getting re injured over and over, kind of like his pattern has been.
That's just huge to be able to survive a game like that. Yeah, it's and it's fun to see Tyrese Knight. I don't even look at him as a rookie now. I mean still is a rookie obviously, but there were when he got the start it was kind of like, Okay, I got to watch him intently to make sure he's going to do what he's supposed to do. Now he's just one of the guys out there. And Jim pointed out he leads the team in tackles. I believe, No, that's not true because Jay Love got eighty two of them. Thanks, but he's probably second all today. Okay, Yeah, he had himself a good day.
He had a couple of big hits too. I mean he had one where I went ooh, he got up, but you got up slow. I think we know what we have him in the run game. I mean, he does have a just a natural feel for where the ball is going when to slipt blocks. But he's become pretty good in the pass defense too.
He can cover.
He's not lightning speed, but he can cover. He's got he's got football speed, and I think he has a good feel. Both Ernest Jones and him, I mean combined, they have a really good feel for his own defense. And we saw Ernest Jones today with that great interception reading the quarterback. I think you know, Tyree's why they pull him out at times and third down to put Ernest Jenkins in for him in those situations. He's still playing seventy eight percent of the snaps. He's not a liability in the past game.
We want to talk about a defense having fun though, and how they're competing with each other. The first thing Tyree's Knight said to jen was I led the team in tackles for the first time in my career today.
So that just shows kind of how they're rolling right now.
They look at this stuff, they look at its stats, and there's an inner competition between them, and it shows. Man, they're playing fast out there, and I just love what the rook has brought brought and and really the impact Ernest Jones has had on him too. You can just tell that he has made the world of difference and man, coach McDonald, John Snyder, they're looking like geniuses right now, just with that move they made weeks ago to really revamp this defense, because those guys continue to show up, Dare.
It is pretty gutsy. Guys.
Think about what they did.
I mean day cut their two starting lineback Green, I traded him and got rid of and brought in you know, Ernest Jones, and then started a rookie. I mean to let Kobe Bryant stay and say we had again, you know, we had Jenkins and we had John blanc Are, oh Wallace. I mean those are four starters that have been replaced and boy as it worked out.
Yeah, it's good stuff.
Also today though, like Lennard Williams had a quiet day, they had seven tackles, two tackles for loss in the past defense. So the dude, like any other day, you'd be like, man, that's a big, big time game for him. But meant the two he's had previous, uh, that kind of looks like pell in comparison. But it's still a great day with seven tackles and two of those tackles for losses.
Yep, good day for this defense. Like Jen mentioned, Tyree's night led the day with twelve tackles. He also had two passes defended more did When we come back, we're gonna hear from Abe Lucas and Derek Young with Jim Miller.
That's next on the Umpquad Bank Radio network.
Seahawks win thirty to eighteen, beating the Arizona Cardinals in their house. Let's hear from one of the guys who contributed, Abe Lucas is.
With Jim Mueller.
Coming into this game, the Cardinals defense was allowing seventy rushing yards since Week nine.
That is the fewest in the NFL.
You guys, I think double that to What made that possible today?
I think, honestly it was just just like playing in the execution. I mean, nothing too nothing too crazy. We didn't have to go back to the drawing board or anything. Were just I think they g and Moss said earlier, but you run, Jami said softenings that it's not just in every game, but that's game, the Jamie game, and just maybe that's something you have think. Did you work out so we were at an execute player?
Was any of that based on the fact that you just saw these guys like two weeks ago. Did it make it easier to go to the game plan and know what to expect?
I think so yeah. I mean if it was easier for us, and it was also easier for a long time, you know. I mean I certainly looked at the things I did last.
Game and try to do better this game.
And we switched it up a little bit, not too much, nothing too crazy, but I think we all bows.
It pretty well.
How much of that switch up was just based on the style of runner that you had back there, because Zach is very different than ken Walker.
I don't know. Maybe, I mean, to me, it wasn't really anything different. I mean, I know how different they are dunning styles, but you know the principles at the same as far as you know, it didn't have to have it the whole wherever they're supposed to go. So you know, I trust them, I trust their footwork, you know, I'm just more more so, I guess, speaking on like my technique.
And how to play it better.
Certainly you like to see the rushing yards from sharbon Ay, and you liked that fifty one yard run and the one yard touchdown after the takeaway. But what did you like about the play call that led to the chasn touchdown one play after the interception?
It was great.
I mean, I'm just I'm trust our play players, i trust our offensive coordinator. You know, I mean I'm not I'm not blowing anything out of.
Proportion, I guess.
I mean, yeah, break all.
The work, so find my need.
It does.
It gives you guys a big lead.
But when you have a lead in the first quarter, you know you still have three quarters to go. Is it a challenge to maintain that level of whether it's intensity, focus, point scoring.
I think it can't be for everybody. The bigger challenge, I think is to keep the entire trying to keep everybody kind of locked in with that same mentality. You still have a lot of time enough to play because I mean it's.
Human issue off for both so far.
What happened there in the second half where the offense wasn't moving it as efficiently. Was that just shooting themselves to the foot or was that an adjustment that Arizona made.
It half time.
I think they made fine adjustments. I mean, they have good players on It was on the side of you know, Buddah Bakers at all the player, He's always all over the place, so I think they're based up. There are a lot of their defense around him and his ability, and it works for him, you know. And then we did share ourselves up with some things, you know, just in terms of assignments and such, which.
We can clean up.
But I mean, yeah, I don't think you're fifty I guess.
So is it safe to say that the offense in the run game has officially turned a corner?
You know, I hope.
So, I mean, I don't. I mean, I'm not really trying to look at it too much. I just like kind of keep things week to week, you know what I mean. So I don't really I mean the whole all of the topic, like, oh, have we finally turned the corner?
All this?
It's just one yeah, bit of time, you know what I mean.
So, I mean, in the end of the the end of the season, the results speak for themselves and you can really re.
Evaluate putting so that it's just one day and it is a win and bump.
Did you know that it is the first time the Cardinals have lost with the roof open this season.
We'll get that back to you.
Thanks, Jen No, I did not know that. I did not know that.
I do know that they are ten The Hawks are ten to one and one. Sin's twenty thirteen in that piece though, But then now we can add that to the record books. I think it is safe to say that the run game is turning a corner. I don't think it's like it hasn't been the block yet, but you know it's turning the quarter. And then when you look at the numbers, two QB hits on Gino today, no sack. So you got the run game that had a big day, and they also did a good job protecting Geno.
Yeah, and I think like Abe said too, like you got to let every game have its own history, right, and just kind of it kind of kind of goes with that whole idea of like coach McDonald's had a few days ago about clearing the room, like Okay, let's just clear the room, start fresh all over again, because it can come up, it can be a totally different ball game. You'll come next week with the run game and all that stuff. But for this game, they found something that worked and they kept going back to it and it kept working, and Sharpennaye was doing his thing, and it does like help the pass protection, Like like if if you're making a defender have to get off blocks and then make tackles and chase people down the field and then you have to throw the ball. There's a different energy rushing quarterback than when when you know they can't run it and they can just pin at yours back and rush the quarterback. So it's going to help in pass protection where you can run the football. All right, I think we are going somewhere if you got something, I look.
I think the best thing happened to this run game today with sharbon A's success. Look, you need competition. Yeah, you know, this is a tough game. And I was actually kind of shocked that Canines only had one one hundred yard game. I did not realize this is the first one hundred yard game by a rusher since Week one. I was like, what, But there's something going on. Kennine's been basically pulled from goal line a short yardage for sharbon A. He didn't play today, and I know he's nicked up. But when you have success with with with with somebody like sharbon Ay, here's what we know about this coaching staff and where Schneider is right. Now you better get on the train or this train's leaving the station. Yeah, and we've seen it now, we got we talked about just a bid of I mean, both starting linebackers gone for the most part. I get Connor Williams retired, but was it coming?
Is it come?
Because since that move, we've kind of changed the course as well, right guard, You know, Haynes, next guy up, can't get it done.
Next guy up, you got to figure out. We just cut both returners. Figure it out. Figure it out.
Man.
And I'm not jumping on Canine. What I'm saying is he's too talented not to be having more success. I'm looking at his yards per care. Three point seven yards for Canine. You got to the kidney man, Canine by himself, nobody block and should be getting three to seven. So I again, I just think this is good. It's a good confidence builder. I get to go watch and you know, you give me your analysis on what we were actually doing. I did like how we were pulling some guys and mashing people working some stuff outside as well. I think this will be a good competent tragician's good. You know if you hey, just because you're the starter, doesn't mean you're going to remain the starter.
I think when you watch a guy like sharbon Ay run from like Canine's perspective, he's watched today, you saw sharbon Ay trust every single run play. He just he followed his the big one he had the fifty one yarder. You saw big Abe and so to how polling and leading the way, and he just trusted it. Where I think sometimes Canine's been in that situation, you see him just get impatient and cut it.
Back or do something. But sharbon A just trusted it, hit it.
And I think when you watch this film from Canine's perspective, he's gonna be like, Okay, like this is a wake up call exactly what you said. I need to just start trusting my speed, trusting my blockers, and then once you get to that second level, started getting old wiggly and do.
What you do.
But I like it.
But hey, Bob, I'm a little relieved right now. You said that it was ten to one and one.
The Seahawks are at Arizona, and I kind of thought that that was our Super Bowl team that lost down there, but we actually lost Arizona at home.
Okay, Okay, so anyway that was sient.
Out there wasn't me.
It wasn't me.
I think sometimes.
Not having experience can help you, because Charbonage got his a moment.
And said, I'm doing exactly what I'm coached to do.
Ken Walker's had all these big plays and reverse and fields and sixty yard touchdowns that it could work against them. I also want to point out too, that we also saw the line step their game up too, So it's not like, you know, if who knows if kN Walker was playing behind this line the way they performed today what he could have done. But there's a lot of stuff going on. But I like that the competition deal because uh yeah, you see your boy go for one point thirty, you're gonna want to get out there and improve your work. Let's go back to the locker room, Jenkada with Derek Young.
Let's start with a.
Big special team stop you make.
It's fourth quarter.
You know the momentum is starting to shift towards the Cardinals.
How big did your eyes get when you realize you were going.
To be able to make that play on doors?
They got really big, But they were really big because I had gave up a little bit of my contain that it was either me or it was gonna be a big play.
So I know I had to make that play and just thankful that it uh came out with.
It was a great punt by Michael Dixon.
You know last week you couldn't finish the game.
What's the difference when you have him back there doing.
When he does?
Oh yeah, he's a All pro pro bowler hunter, so you know he's.
Gonna put it in the right places every time and give us time to get down there and make a play for him.
Pretty clean special teams today.
What were the conversations all week after last week's game against the Juts?
Just continue to be us.
I believe before last week we were like ranked number one in multiple categories as far as special team. So really the message week could just keep doing what we're doing, play fast, physical and discilant football, and that's what we went out there and did.
Was a man who saw a new returner back there with you today.
What's the thing learning a new teammate on the fly.
It's pretty It's not too bad.
We've seen a film on him for going against him, so we knew what type of returning he was and we was happy to have him gainst oxplosive and uh, we wish we got him loose today.
But it's gonna call it.
Lastly, for the offense to have almost three hundred yards and a half time, what does that say about the efficiency.
In the game plan going in great great game plan, great play calling, and we wasn't shooting ourselves in the field. We had a couple affunities, but for the most part, we were just you know, playing leaning football and that's what it looks like.
All right, we'll get that back to you.
Bump.
Thanks Jen Drake Young got an opportunity. I was happy to see him back there. I was yelling and screaming, saying, let him return a kick. He didn't get his hands on one, but he was back there. He ran a four to three, so I think it's natural you put him back there. But he did make it play on special teams. It's nice that we weren't talking about special teams today. It's nice that we saw them mess up on special teams that little Uh what.
Did he pull it? The kicker pulled it to the left, hit the hit the post and say some points we liked it.
Yeah, I mean the way the special teams was last week. Man, it's just good that we didn't have anything in the show going like, man, what happened with the special teams and this that and the other thing. But I will say this too though, that it is it was also good to come out of the game not feeling like you had something you had to defend about Gino, Like he just played a good, solid football game, Like he didn't put the ball in Harm's weight. Looks like he got him into the right place.
Uh.
There wasn't any like kind of scary throws which you thought like like why did he, you know, make that pass? I think he I think he may have ran, tried to run maybe one time, maybe didn't get sacked, moved into pocket, well, got the ball out on time, like all those kinds of things. So it was good that that Gino had a solid, quiet game even though he was he made some good throws.
Eight twenty four for thirty seven. You know, I mean one TV one sen QB ready, I don't understand it. Well, it wasn't higher, but QBR was only forty three. That seems kind of low. But he outperformed Kyler Murray, who had a quarterback rayon of eighty and forty one QBR and he was twenty five for thirty eight with two interceptions.
So another good job, Niggain. I thought we bottled up.
I mean Kyler Murray in two games five rushes, five rushes for twenty five yards total. I mean he was averaging like thirty five when we were playing him. So yeah, just a really good team defense.
I'm just gonna say it's it's amazing what Gino can do when he has time and the.
Ability to sit in the pocket and survey a.
Field, and he has not had that earlier in the year, and that's where some of these interceptions have come from him improvising making plays. And today was how a quarterback wants to play football. And that's just hats off to the offensive line.
Eighty percent completion percentage, the highest of the year so far for Gino Smith. When we come back, we'll hear from Kenny McIntosh and give you our game MVP.
That's next Seahawks win thirty eighteen.
This is the Seahawks post game show on Michael Bubbas with Ray Roberts, Brian Walters, and Paul Moyer. This young man got seven touches for thirty eight yards. That was five point four on the ground. Talking about Kenny McIntosh, let's hear from them.
How good did it feel to contribute to the game.
That's a significant way, man.
Amazing.
Man.
You know, I knew the time was coming, but to actually be out there in the moment, man, to go out there and showcase my talent and beat out there and fighting hard with my teammates. Man, it just it felt like everything, man, everything, it felt like it meant to be. So thank god I was able to do it tonight.
What was the difference when the run game in general?
Today?
Man, I got to go up pretty good.
My old line, man, my whole line had to wake up on the white side of the bed this morning.
Man, is one to go out damn just bundest.
People today because that's all they was want to do.
There was no penetration.
Really, gods was moving from placing guys moving gods with the ball. So I sublit my boys, man, my big guys up front.
The style of Zach Charbanat, the patience that he shows. Is there anything you wish you had in your game that he showed today?
That's a tough question.
My boy, did his dad like my boy bowed it off of he ran the ball hard.
Grand patient ran fast, and it's cool. It's definitely I say, we definitely contoot after each other.
Man.
We like we learned off each other.
I can say, rather it just blocking anything, pitching the ball, stuff like that.
We ask questions. We both want to be free, man, So I.
Definitely put it back off of each other.
We both do.
Definitely, it didn't seem like there was some extra intensity there, maybe trying to make up for the fact that Can nine wasn't there. But I'm thinking about your yards after contact.
I don't know how you did.
It, but you forced your way through some big yards.
Man. How did you do it?
Man? Just I definitely got to go back to preparation and trying this.
Man.
The coach is putting us in this situation and be able to you know, know the answer the bill to the question.
And stuff like that.
So definitely the coach's in.
Salute though, giving us the direct operation and pickings in the right moments and to go out to succeed.
So what is the challenge of maintaining that intensity in the second half when you're already up a couple of scores?
Man?
Just got to go believe in your run game.
Man.
Once they all get the running and if they all get to moving down the field, you're believe it in your front guys.
Man, they can't stop the run.
They can't stop us.
Man.
So as simple as.
That, you notice the hotmo of this offing.
We want to be at a running ball and people know that we're going to run the ball each year, especially in the fourth quarter especially. That's what great teams do now they run the ball in the great zone in the game, you know, the winning out victoria.
So that's exactly what I was going to ask you, because those yards are a little tougher to come by in the second half.
After getting two hundred.
And seventy two in the first half, what was the level of confidence when you get the ball back with about seven minutes to go, that you guys were going to be able.
To run some Well, we have a great, great two minute four minute offense. We want to say, man, that that we buying and believe in and guys just going out there and putting comfortable in that moment and going out there in lose. So man, I just thank God for the moment and thank God that we came up for the win, but thank you, and.
It was really good to see Kenny mack get some touches out there.
We'll get that back to you, Bump.
Yes it was.
If I'm Kenny mack man, I'm playing Return of the Max, so as I getting the Whip Return of the Mac, I'm playing that song. You guys know how I feel about Kenny mackintosh. Man, I've been begging to see this young man on the football field. I'm glad he can't contribute that running back room just got a little.
Thicker up in there. You know, there's not a lot of space anymore.
Guys are getting carries, man, I think that's a that's a that's a good, good problem to half well.
I like what Paul said, though, like you create that competition, man, like you're either gonna rise to it or you're gonna fall to it, you know.
And right now you have three very capable dudes.
You know.
You know, Kenny McIntosh hadn't had all the carries that the other two have had, but Sharbonnay showed that, you know, the style that they want to be in the running game that he can fit that. And then, like you said, someone said you know, maybe with knwe with this the way they perform today, he's a different dude. Uh, And sometimes I think, uh, I think it was I mean have been the previous arason the game when he when they were saying that, he went to the sideline and said, we just need to run the ball in the game. And then that's when he got downhill on the actual counterplay with Abe Lucas and you know, you know, had his handle on his back for like a nicely eight or nine at ten yard game. Because I do think he's better when he is downhill and then he makes the cuts like in the hole versus like in the backfield, going like I'm gonna totally reverse field and possibly lose two yards but maybe pick up three, you know, something like that. So I think it's important that moving forward the run game. Obviously you won't the explosiveness of knin, but you have to try to mitigate the negative yardish plays. And I think they did that well in Running Game today.
Yeah, I agree. Yeah, I'll make quick comment. I remember a Kurt Warner way back when they used to tell him, they say, look, there are some plays there design. You have to stay the course with this and there's other ones we're gonna give you run to daylight. Yeah, and look, Sharbonay six point one yards per carry today. There's been a lot of people have come up to me and say, why did we draft.
This second round?
You use a second round pick for another running back? I go because our culture is to run the football, and it's still with McDonald after Pete, and we've had injuries and we see what happened when we don't have a running back. Sharbon Ay just hadn't had an opportunity. Yeah, I mean, he got his opportunity today and he made the most of it. So you need running back since I was a good day. And obviously glad for Macintosh too because he had seven carries and he had two receptions.
Yeah.
And going to the negative plays that Big Ray was talking about, kind of two negative plays for one yard only minus one yard each of them. So and that's just huge because you saw some of these things developed and sometimes they aren't there, but he saw him just put his nose.
In it and get two or three.
And that's this huge for the whole complex of the drive as opposed to you know, sticking your foot in the ground, reversing field and it's minus five. Now you're second and fifteen, third and fifteen. It just makes a lot tougher. So it's just little wins like that, just staying on on schedule. It was huge and sharbon they brought that today, you know, because K nine's CA nine can be tough.
I mean, we've seen him run over people. He's not afraid of contact right now.
He's elusive.
And that's why I said, if you can be that consistent, this place designed here, this is where we're going, and you become that two way type of player. You know, there's this guy at Arizona State. He's pretty good at doing both.
The speaking of a tough runner man because a J.
Barner ye of the toughest runs after they catch the day, running over to defend on the sideline. All right, let's give our game MVPs. Gotta put that headset back on you. I'm ready, all right, who you got? I'm going with Jack Charbonay easy, would you gotta be.
M That's a good one.
But I'm also I'm gonna go with my key pregame, Keyhawk, which was a sharp.
Well, you know, I'm gonna have to go against the grain a little bit you know, and get Zack Saberne.
It's just hard not to pick him up.
You can say the offensive line, but we're not going to pull the turbo thing there and call the whole offensive line. But I thought that the rookie played well today. A big ape showed up big in the in the in the run game. Charles Cross even on that on that fifty one yard touchdown, he came off the double team and went and engaged the safety. That really opened up the space for Charbonay to get through there and get to the touchdown. So I thought they did well up front. But charbon Ay really set the tone today and was the was the MVP.
To your defense? Coach did give the line all game balls? Yes, there you go, so yeah, we'll go first.
I'm a happy first unanimous game MVP of the year, Zach Scharmoney.
I think he deserved it, all right.
He had one hundred and ninety five yards total off one ninety five.
I mean, that's a good day. It's a great day at office, all right. When we come back, we will look forward to next week. The Green Bay Packers are coming into time. We'll break that down next on the Quad Bank Radio Network.
And off.
Charbon Bay left.
Side has a first down of the zep he down the thirty the twenty fifteen ten five touchdown Seahawks, and they are still chasing. Zack Charbonay forty nine yards to paydirt his second touchdown of the game.
The Seahawks came.
In saying we gotta find a way to run the ball.
Holy can't fish.
They do forty nine yards for another six for Charbonay and the Seahawks extend their lead twenty three to ten.
The call the game is brought to you by a beacon plumbing. Stop freaking call beacon all right? Next week Sunday Night Football Packers are coming into town and they're one of the better teams in the league. There are nine and four, third in the toughest division in football, the NFC North, just coming off a loss to the Lions thirty four to thirty one. Before that, they had a three game win a streak beating the Dolphins thirty to seventeen, Niners thirty eight to ten, and then the Bears twenty to nineteen. Lost both matchups against the Lions. So far, Jordan Love, so far this year has had himself a decent season. I mean, it's crazy how they just find quarterbacks over there in Green Bay. He's completed sixty two percent of his passes, twenty one touchdowns, eleven interceptions.
This should be a good one, be wal What are you expecting. Well, it goes back to the same thing. You got to stop the run, and that's Josh Jacobs. He's number three in the league right now in rushing, so they're going to run the ball. He's a good runner, I mean, and he's kind of a high he's a little you put Saquon and Derek Henry kind of as outliers.
They're crushing the NFL in rushing yards. And that's Josh Jacobs up next.
So as much as you know Julian Love, Jordan Love has shown he's a good quarterback and all that, they still they want to run the ball. That's what they've been true to. And Josh Jacobs has been a heck of a pickup for him from the Raiders and they've really revamped that run game. There's nothing to me in this receiving court. When you look at them, that's overwhelming. You know, it looks like Marvin Harrison Junior for the card. The Seahawks have gone against a lot better receivers in my opinion than what they're facing with Green Bay. But Jordan Love will be an issue. But stop the run, keep doing what you're gonna do. And I think it's amazing how things change. You looked at this game on the schedule four or five weeks ago and you're going, oh, no, like that stretch is gonna be tough with Green Bay Minies. So now you're going, man like, I think, I like our chances in this Sunday night at home, prime time, and you win.
It's just it's I think you're all. But in the playoffs pretty much.
Gonna be a tough game. Statistically, they got some really good statistics.
I mean they're you know, they're outscoring opponents by a pretty good amount. They've only given or Love has only been sacked eleven times in eleven games. I mean that even his backup been sacked five games and five times in five games.
So they're good.
They're they're a sack a game that's extremely low in the NFL. They're averaging eight point five yards per catch or per attempt in the past game.
That's healthy. They're averaging four point eight yards a rush.
That's healthy defensively, twelve interceptions. You know, they're they got playmakers. I don't you know, you look at sack wise, they don't have anybody that's just dominant. I think they're leading sackers four and a half five may five and a half foot when I look last, you know, thirty three. Nothing to just sneeze home about. But we're right home about. But this is gonna be a tough game. They're just well coached. They believe they've got an athletic quarterback who has finally come into his own.
But this is we're playing well man, we are.
We should relish this opportunity on national TV and get our home field advantage the way we want it.
So I'm looking forward to this one.
Yeah say, you know, like you said, the running game is a big deal because Jacobs also has eleven uh rushing touchdowns, which is a you know, big deal. But they're almost like a poor man's uh Detroit Lions. They're not quite as physical and tough, but they're gritty like. They they're hard to finish and uh and so that's why it's going to be important, uh for the defense to show up and show well, get you know, get off the field and for the offense to have long sustainable drives ending in scoring points. Because they can score, they can go in little spurts and score a lot of points and get back into football games. So it's going to be important, uh for them to for the seatouts to have another all around solid game tackling, rushing the quarterback, defending the past, but also rushing the ball, protecting the ball in the passing game, and then making some plays throwing the ball.
All right, let's pause in seconds to give our network stations a chance to identify themselves here on the Umpquad Bank Radio network see the.
Hawks football OH seasons k I r row k I r row FMG took comach she got Yeah.
It should be a good one next week against the Packers.
Man.
I like the way that you described on Big Ray. A gritty team, a young team too, man, with some young talent over there. They don't have any receivers like b Wall mentioned that will overwhelm you, but they spread the football out. You got one receiver with almost seven hundred and another one with almost six, another tight end with five, another one with four. They got some options over there. But let's see, these guys can take advantage of Jordan Love and is a perceived turnover issue, so we shall see today's final score.
Seahawks thirty Cardinals eight.
Team.

Welcome to Hawk Talk. A'm Michael Bump is with the fellas. We are in celebration mode. The Seahawks win on the road A thirty to eight teen Fellas, Big Ray b Waal, Paul Moya. Yeah, this was a game that these guys needed. We wanted some help from the from the bills. It's okay they did. They didn't help the squad out, but these guys did exactly what they were supposed to do. Geno Smith twenty four thirty two and thirty three yards. Zach Sarbonne, the star of the show twenty two carries, one thirty four and two touchdowns, also had about fifty plus receiving yards as well. You described this Moyer as, or was it b Walt, the most complete game of the season so far.
I think we probably boll said it because I think it was you know, it's one of those you know, I guess second half of the offense could have done a little better.
But when we needed a most, because.
They had gone three and out on three of their four drives, we needed a most. It was their last drive to get the field goal. It was they were usually their tad. We forced all three of their timeouts on they It only was about a two minute drive, but it was a ten play, forty three yard type of drive that kicked a field goal to go up you know where they had to score two touchdowns to beat us with no timeouts and no two minute warning anymore. So, I just think defensively, we've just been so consistent loving that. Offensively, why was the most complete game because we actually had one hundred yard rusher today.
You felt like we could run the ball for some big plays, converted on some third downs.
We dominated every statistic. You know, we obviously outscored then we had more yards, third down conversions, won the turnover battle. I mean, it was just it was a it was a coach's dream game on the road, big And here's my last thing on that. Why was it so important? I mean it knocked Arizona out of the playoffs. Yeah, if they win, it completely flips it. And you guys, I think on your show, Bump, I was hearing it was the Seahawks win, it's sixty five seventy percent chance to make the playoffs. They don't, it goes down to like eleven percent. Arizona same thing if they win, you know, it's fifty sixty. Because of the schedule they have coming up. They got two easy games coming see how got two tough games? So this was a massively important game and we're just playing really good football. You don't win four games in a row by accident.
Right, Yeah.
And I loved what they were doing up front with the running game. The guys have been super physical. The running backs were being patient. You know, both McIntosh and Charbonnay had good yards per carry averages. And it looks like the offensive line was having fun playing football. Like there were some games this year where I thought, like, man, the offensive linemen looking at the clock, like, man, can that thing run any faster? You know, so we can get up out of here. But they were doing some good stuff up front today. They were grinding it out. Sometimes it isn't pretty but if you keep trying to finish, you can create holes for guys to find lanes to run. And they were able to do that today and so I'm excited for where this offensive offensive performance could go if they're able to keep building off of what the success they had in the running game today.
Well, you know what's cool about this offense too, is this is actually the fifth week in a row. Paul said it, but this is actually a fifth week in a row that the offense is scored in the final drive in regulation and the rams is a little skewed because they didn't score in an overtime, but the final driving regulation they score, and so it's just showing and they're either getting the game out arrange by kicking a field goal or other teams can't do, or forty nine ers they're running it in for a touchdown Gino Smith or the game winner. So the offense is performing when they need to toward the end and not you know, giving the ball back with the team to have a chance. But to me, what stood out to me is flaws that the Seahawks have had that we've always talked about as far as turnovers and sacks and short yardage woes and stuff. They got that fixed today. Special teams got that fix today. Short yardage third and short five for six today. Pretty impressive there, that turnaround and they were able to punch it in on the goal line. There were sharpenning on the fly sweep, so they had some things rolling for him that way. They made the adjustments and all that. Most of all that, actually, all of it, I'll go back to that is all offensive line. The offensive line is the MVP of this game. It was really fun to watch Gino was pressured twice, he sat there. He was able to do his thing. His You know, Geno's known for his high percentage completion eighty percent today and that's all on the offensive line.
Given him a normal day back there.
Yeah.
The other thing I like too in those short yardage and like gold to goal situations, and I think coach McDonald spoke a little bit about it this week was that it seemed as if they had a plan versus going like, oh shoot, like now we found ourselves in this situation.
What plays did we have?
It didn't like, it just didn't feel connected that way up until today today. It seems like they went into a definite plan, like if we're you know, short yardage in this part of the field, you know, at this time of the game, whatever, we're gonna run this bank of plays. If we're goal to goal, we're gonna run this bank of place. It seems like they had a method to the madness for their short yardage today.
And we saw that in the first drive. You the third and one twice on that drive and they threw a flat to no offense. It's like they had something they knew, maybe a weakness they've seen on film. But they didn't bring in the bigs. They didn't bring in anything that said, hey, run run, run only. But they opened up their whole playbook and that was what they took. They took the little one yard flat route there to no a fense. So yeah, I agree with that, that's a that's a good call. They definitely had a plan.
Won the special teams too, partly because their punter was out there. Their kicker when he became the punter only averaged thirty nine yards per kick. But you know, Dixon, who we weren't sure he was even going to play, had another just monster game. I mean, he averaged you know what, fifty three fifty four yards per per kick and then thinking netted around forty three as well, and had a couple of times where we pined them, you know, one of them down to the two yard line when we needed it, you know where. Okay, if they're going to go down and score and make this a field goal game, let's make him go ninety plus yards with which we did so.
Yep, complete game.
I mean, see when keep this going because this is the next one is going to be It's we played all good teams, you know, and good quarterbacks over this last five weeks, but this is the this is a real deal playoff game coming up.
Yeah, it's I think now the Hawks have eleven interceptions. Now Kobe Bryant had one, Ernie Jones had one as well. That moves them into the top ten. When it comes to taking the football away going into the Packers game, you want to take the football out of this sky because Jordan Love might do that.
But uh, this was a good one.
I felt like there was a flow to this game that we haven't seen, especially the way they've responded after giving up that early touchdown. Kobe Bryant gets caught looking in the backfield, then he bounces back with an interception, so all around good game. And the kick returner he showed up from Canada and he caught the football and he looked smooth and confident doing him.
You love to see it, all right.
When we come back, we'll hear from Kobe Bryant at the podium. That's next on your home for the Seahawks Saddle Sports seven ten and Kyra News Radio ninety seven three FM.
This this is Hawk Talk Postgame, a joint presentation of Cairo News Radio ninety seven to three FM and Seattle Sports.
You are listening to Hawk Talk the Seahawks get it done thirty to eighteen in Arizona. Let's hear from Kobe Bryant. He got his third pick of the season today to take.
What happened on that play, Yeah, just in the middle of the field seeing the over and uh, you know it just took my shot. You know, he just happened to throw it, So you know, he's got to take advantage of the opportunity.
Mike, except that was kind of bust on that play. So when you see that as like, the first thing is you got to get there.
Yeah, I mean that's what I'm in the middle field for you know, to help you know, whatever it is, if I see it and nothing else behind me, just go get it.
So that's what I did.
You always have the balk on your way, You always close to making players or did something to come to you in the NFL.
Nah, I've pretty much always been like that, you know, just blessed to have that trait, and you know, I plan on keep going and keep doing it.
What do you what do you credit that to do? Where do you think that comes from?
I have no idea. My dad and my brother can't catch as good as me, So sorry Dad and my brother. But it's just the reality of it. I just like I said, it's just always you know, I've always had it, had So you want a couple.
Of years out of interception, just feel like a foreign ring on that intercept?
Well, I hope.
So you know, we all know I gotta rob the couple was my rookie year with the interceptions. So but just like I said, just blessed. Always get credit to guy, you know, it's the biggest thing, and just keep playing our style of football.
What was kind of the mindset after?
I mean they right right down the field to score the first time, and then you guys have to come you know, come back after that.
I mean, what's kind of just keep playing. You know, things are going to happen. Like I said, they're a good team obviously they have good players. Just keep playing and you know, lock in and just come together as one. That's what we did talk.
About Krek McDonald's game planning and dway calling after this game.
Yeah, he does it up for us each and every week. You know, we we thank him and you know vice versus. Well, you know, he's got to go out there and execute. That's what we did.
What's communication like during the week with him, you know, I guess relating the game.
And yeah, he definitely you know, asks our pain on things. Obviously, he's always so so locked in on what he wants to call and how he sees things, and he all, like I said, he's our opinion, and we tell him how we feel, and you know, it's just working together as one.
Something that he would ask your opinion, just I mean, just.
How we see the things, like you know, just specific the coverage or whatever that catch me be off to me. He is the head coach and you know he calls the shots and we just got to go out there execute.
Previous coaches, you see him as as being more likely to use what his players can get to him for game playing the other way around.
I mean, he's I could say, he's definitely open minded, like I said, and we appreciate that, especially a players, because ultimately we have to go out there and execute and they doll it up. And it's been working pretty fun.
Been complaining abot knocking your PI?
Yeah, pretty sure. You got seen that. He's just playing with passion.
Man.
You know that he's tall, fast, Nobody's gonna run past him, so guys have to push off. And you know, we were fortunate enough to get that call, but if he didn't, it was definitely gonna be a pick by him.
So do you feel like you're on a roll or do you feel like you're just playing now you're supposed to? Do you know where do you guys feel you're at right?
You definitely playing and we're supposed to. You know, we just got to keep going. We got a big one next week and just like I said, just keep playing our Sello football.
Totally. Thank you, thanks Ja.
That was Kobe Bryant, one of the few players taking advantage of opportunities man, you got Rayshawn Jenkins, who gets hurt. Kobe gets to start and it looks like it's his position now for the time being. He got Tyree's Knight, who took advantage of an opportunity that was created by him. Old with Timmy, who's taking advantage of an opportunity created by someone retiring. I mean, that's why you have a depth chart. So guys step up and take a hold of it. I love the way Kobe has been praying, would.
Have been saying, I just like love this idea, Like, you know, you hear it all the time, Next man Up, all this other kind of stuff I think gets really clicheish, you know sometimes because if it was about the next man up, that dude would have been the starter to begin with. Like just kind of just kind of weird that way. But in this situation, dudes are are ready to play. They're prepared. It seems like they've been coached very well. They they've been receptive to the coaching and then been able to take it to the field. You know, Like one of even in the run game, I thought that there were some things that they were I saw them doing in practice, not saying the guys executed into games, and it seemed like today a little bit of more of that was in alignment. You know, you look at and you look at a guy like Kobe Bryant, like this dude has been from corner to nicole to I think both safeties. I'm for what I can figure, and this dude has just continued to be ready to play football. And sometimes the ball just finds you when you're when you're playing like that.
So I love the way that.
We talked about earlier, even in the offensive line room where it's kind of I mean, the running back room has kind of created some competition at the right guard spot. It's created some competition, you know what I'm saying, Like that, at the receiver spots you know Gino, I mean, DK and JSN. There's there's some competition there and so either going to rise to it or you're gonna fall to it. And the guys have been rising to those occasions.
Yeah, I think it's actually helped. Say it's right, Rayshawn Jenkins has been playing well again. You know, he's tackling well when he's getting in there. So it's just like anything, you know, it raises everybody's level of play and what that means for Kobe as well. Kobe can't be giving up forty one yard touchdowns, right, I mean, you can't settle seven yards when a wide receiver. Now again, who knows, maybe they thought was a sided just maybe someone was supposed to jam the wide receiver at the line's scrammage. I don't know, but that's your responsibility. It's like a quarterbacks in your hand, doesn't matter.
You threw it.
Don't throw those interceptions. So can't.
So he's got to keep You got to keep getting better because in this game, and then this is the old cliche, you need to getting better or you're getting worse because they are going to find your weaknesses. And so, you know, you start, you start a bunch of games and then all of a sudden, I think Josh Job is going through that right now. Okay, we found a little bit of your weakness. You've got to improve on it or you're going to make sure that doesn't beat you. And so I think it's great. We've got so many good players right now, you know, on the defensive line, corners, safeties, guys who can multiple you know, hybrid rolls.
So it's just healthy. It's a wonderful one, wonderful problem for coach McDonald have.
Yeah, I used to love as a white out bump.
You'll you'll probably uh agree with me on this when you see a safety sitting about seven eight yards off a wrap and flat footed and you're like, right, all right, I'm probably gonna score on this one or you know, whether it be one. I used to go against Earl and practice, and whenever Earl jammed me, I was always upset. But whenever he was like six seven yards off me, I was like, it's done. There's no way, Like, there is no chance. So it's just a tough spot for a safety to be in. And that's why something tells me there was something else going on, some kind of miscommunication or miscoverage that happen. But what I love is you got burned and then he came back and finished with an interception and you didn't really you didn't see anything bad from him the rest of the game. So he kind of he recovered and and he's just been he's been, he's been a ball hawk for this team.
Yeah, it's been.
Uh, it's been fun watching Kobe kind of because he went there was stuff too. Tod kept getting messed up and uh, you bring guys in, they take your spot.
Are you a corner?
Are you a nickel? Now you're a safety? And to see him kind of step up in these moments are great. And then obviously the big one today Zach Sharvada taking advantage of opportunity. Cana is going to be happy for him, but Canaan is also going to feel that pressure to really step up and play some good ball. So I think that's good. Competition is always good within your team. So hopefully these guys keep the good times rolling. All right, when we come back, we will recap some of the highlights of this game, that thirty eighteen win over the Arizona Cardinals.
That's next on your home for the Seahawks South Sports seven to ten in com News Radio ninety seven three FM.
This is Hawk Talk postgame, our choint presentation of Cairo News Radio ninety seven to three FM and Seeattle Sports.
You are listening to Hawk Talk, and if you listen to Hawk Talk every single week you hear this music, you.
Know what it is.
It is time to look at these highlights and recap this same all right, to start, the Cardinals get the football and they're moving it down the field. They go six place, seventy yards and Colin Murray funds Michael Wilson for this forty one yard touchdown. Seven zero Cardinals orry.
Maybe changing the play at the line of scriviage, has a tight slot on the right side, playfake, He rolls to the right, stops gonna throw deep. Got a man out there making the catch in for the touchdown.
Arizona is Michael Wilson. A trip said. On the right side.
Kobe Bryant was the safety and he got beat deep on the far side, a forty one yard touchdown. The Seahawks have not given up many big plays of late that time. They do and it hurts them for six.
Yeah, it's really about the only bad series the Seahawks had. And they kept the drive alive a couple of times. But as b Walt said, a dream for a wide receiver seeing a safety off six seven yards flat footed as you're running full speed.
Not sure if there was supposed to be a jam on the slot or not. We were in a blitz. There was no help over the top, and you know what they scored on their opening drive. It happens we.
Came back Cardinals set the tone. They go up seven zero. The Seahawks get the full ball. They go thirteen plays seventy one yards got to set a four field goal, and then the defense starts to show up.
This play right here, Jones intercepts Kyler Murray.
There were a couple of five Arizona Cardinals in the middle of that scrum at the defensive front. Who's Jay Reid, the guy who they had to hold so second down in nineteen Now back in his own twenty one, starting out an epistol formation, Now Connor slides over to the right side, three receivers left for Kyler Murray's going to.
Throw the middle.
It's intercepted Jones. He's across the twenty, tripped up and.
Dropped at the nineteen yard line for the second time in three weeks. Kyler Murray and his own end of the field throws a pick and except for a bit of a trip, it would have been another pick six. But as it is, the Seahawks haven't near the red zone of the Arizona Cardinals, and Jones comes up with the interception.
Yes, it's just amazing how Ernest Jones has kind of folded into this defense as if he has been here the entire year, and then his leadership is just unbelievable considering he's still just a young dude, and so for him to be able to get get to his get his head around, he said to ball surprise him. But he had good hands and was able to catch it. So good for Ernest Jones on that interception.
Now just gets your spot and you might be a hand to a gift. But the Seahawks waste no time. Very first play, Gino finds Jayson from the.
Cardinals nineteen three receivers near side. Gino has time, He's going to.
Throw the near side corner. Jan then heads the touchdown.
Seahawks quick turn around the Seahawks offense on the field and Gino looks right to the back corner of the end zone.
A perfect pass, a rainbow drop in over the top to.
Check some smiff and jigbaw a nineteen yard reception, his fifth touchdown on the season.
And there are Seahawks.
Fans sitting right along the back of the end zone and he runs right there and he is hugged by the twelves. The Seahawks take the lead at nine to seven.
What I love about this is. This is a sudden change opportunity for the offense. Defense makes the big turnover offense back end. A lot of coaches will have a shot play, take a shot. The momentum is on your side. Go get that touchdown. JSN runs a fantastic route out of the slot to corner out simple but he stays straight at this defender, gives him a late move, little nod and goes right to the corner. Is able to get two feet in. Great ball by Gino.
I didn't appreciate that route until I saw the replay. That little stick at the top. We call that Coach Levy style a radical movement. Be violent at the top of your route. You get the defense to react. That's what we saw there. Now Cardinals are trying to respond. Are they gonna bounce back? No, sir, Defense shows of one more time.
Second down to nine from the thirty one play fake Rury steps up with the pocket, looks flag is down, throw far time intercept.
It again Kobe Ryant, this time down.
The near sidelines.
When he's knocked down the bounds in front of the Arizona bench at about the forty five.
There's a hold. Does it stand? I think the interception will stand.
Well, Kobe giveth a touchdown on the opening drive and he taketh away on that one.
And I'm just going to read this. This is from Brady Henderson with ESPN. He said.
Mike McDonald said Kobe Bryant's interception came on a play in which the Seahawks busted a coverage. Said, having a post safety that can erase some things. You need those guys. McDonald said, he's playing at a high level right now and this was on that last pick, so busted coverage, he recovered for them. And again, you guys all said, I mean Kobe Bryant's playmaker.
I wonder what it was.
Busted coverage is in the middle of the field, so he was probably helping the thirds of the right side of him, is what you're thinking.
Well, I if I remember the plague, you go back there. I want to see it.
Maybe there was some type of play action bootleg and said nobody covered the kind of the deep crossing route and so Kobe had to pick that.
There's no one there in the middle of the field.
Kobe making plays and you know else, Madson plays this guy right here, Zach sharbon a big race goes a one yard touchdown.
Gino under center, sharbon A in motion, he gets a handoff, goes from left to right, turns up.
Field, touchdown.
Seahawks.
A lot of motion, a lot of eye candy, half a dozen tight ends on the field, but all in all, it's Charbonay with a handoff to the left side.
He takes it in from a yard out, his sixth rushing touchdown.
Of the season.
And now the Seahawks stretch that lead sixteen to seven, and you can hear the twelves here at State Farm Stadium.
Yeah, you know, this is a formation that they kind of ended up in that they ran last week when Charbonnay was in the full back position and Canine was in that flysweek position and they gave it the charbon Ay for the touchdown and.
Used Knine as kind of the eye candy.
This time, they put Charbonay into flysweek position and Rustle at the full back position and they give it to Charbonay on the fly sweep gets around the end for a touchdown. So it's really cool to see them playing off of those same formations. Even with all that shifting and stuff, they still were in that same basic formation they were in last week when they scored, and then this time they used the fly sweet versus the dive play up the middle, connecting.
The dots right there.
That was a five play, forty six yard drive, making the score seventeen to seven. The Cardinals get the football. They go ten play, sixty one yards put on the foot. The kick is good. Seventeen to ten. The Hawks are still up. Then they exchange some punts.
They go out.
Now the biggest play of the game. Five plays eighty yards. The fifty one of those yards come right here and off.
Charbonete left side has the first down of thes up.
He's down the thirty to twenty fifteen ten five touchdown Seahawks and they are still chasing zex. Charmoney forty nine yards to paydirt, his second touchdown of the game.
The Seahawks came in.
Saying, we gotta find a way to run the ball, Holy ken Fish. They do forty nine yards for another six for Charboney and the Seahawks extend their lead twenty three to ten.
Yeah, with Charbone's day for sure, this is a great play by the seahow the whole right side of the offensive line pulling left, Charbonney follows him.
Showed patients.
He showed patients all day in his runs and really making great cuts off the off these blocks.
And here here was what impressed me the most on this is the burst.
I haven't seen a burst like this from sharbonnay ever. I didn't know he had this in him. But once he got into the open space, you can see him put his head down and he started to pull away a little.
Bit into the end zone. Huge play for this young man, and hope we see a lot more of this to come.
That made the score twenty four to ten. It was stay that way going into halftime.
The Hawks get the football, we're hoping they go on to drive and put points on the board.
They go three and out. Cardinals get the football, they go three and out.
Hawks get the football ten plays, forty five yards, making the score twenty seven to ten. They kick a field goal, and now that Cardinals gotta put points on the board, they do exactly that.
Twelve plays seventy yards.
Kylin Murray founds James Fine, James connor Ford two our touchdown.
Yeah, they're gonna spread it out.
Yeah, And they said mcgrid why to the far side jobs on him one on one, a slot to the near side, Connor playfake, he gets the shovel pass inside and he scored.
And that's one. That's a that's a really.
Great call by Arizona and a lot of eye candy for the Seahawks. And the shovel pass underneath goes to Connor. He scores from two yards out. They're gonna go for two points here, the two point conversion as the score stands twenty seven to sixteen.
Well, eye candy to some maybe beer, certain beers, distractions for others. Point is, they had a shovel play that was really well designed and fulled the Seahawks very well executed. You see these as they've been running these for thirty forty years. That's actually one of the better design plays as he was untouched.
That made the score twenty seven to eight. Team.
The Hawks will go three and out on their next two possessions of Cardinals will miss a field goal. Then the Seahawks would make a field goal field goal, stretching it out to thirty to eighteen. And when you needed a big play to end the game, Ray Sewn Jenkins remind you he's still out there.
A third out of five. Here comes the blitz by the Seahawks.
Murray barely season spoon missisan, but Jenkins doesn't. Mike McDonald's dialing one up. A flag comes in late, but I don't think it's gonna mean anything in the Seahawks defense can now celebrate. The clock kicks down. That's it all, zeros. It's gonna end on a sack.
The thing I love about this call is that the Seahawks decided to take control of this situation and dictate to the offense what was gonna happen, and they were able to do it. Both of the blitzers were able to get into the backfield to impact the throw, and then obviously Jenkins got the sack.
Jenkins making plays out there, stealing the deal. Hawks whim thirty to eighteen. Today's game recap is brought to you by michaels Chu Cansino, Bigger, better, the best in the Northwest. When we come back, we'll give you our unsung hero who needs some love.
We'll let you know. That's next thing.
Home for the Seahawks four seventeen and kyrad Is Radio ninety seven three FM.
This this Hawk Talk postgame a joint presentation of Cairo News Radio ninety seven to three FM and Seattle Sports.
Welcome back to Hawk Talk on Michael Bamas with Ray Roberts, Brian Walshes, and Paul Moyer. We're just sharing stories about blindside his back in the day when you can really light somebody up.
Those days are over.
You're gonna get fine for even saying that. I know, right, you can't even think it. It's a curse words now crazy. There was a block that lock it through today. He even throw the block. He just kind of jumped in front of the guy and threw his arms out. That's what we gotta do these days. So, yeah, the game is different, but they're trying to make it safer. Moyer, are they I think they are safer for it for certain positions. That's for shure.
No.
Look there, college is the one that's probably the worst. You know, you guys watched the game Saturday. I guess that was yesterday. He gets Arizona State. When the guy hits the quarterback, quarterback just drop down just enough where caught him around the chin.
It was a really good you know ten twenty years ago. I mean, you go, great hit.
I don't have a problem with.
It being a penalty. You're trying to change behavior. You kick him out of the game. I go, it's kind of extreme. You suspend him for the next game for playing football. It's just there's just in life, there's just things that are called common sense. Just be common sense. You don't have to go over the top and they are.
Yeah, it's getting crazy out there. You're welcome, kids. We took all those hits, so y'all could be be safe out there so you can all make more money.
All right, Time for the unsung hero.
I think there's several options here, man, But you guys are such great analysts. You probably already mentioned the names that you're gonna mention for the unsung hero. So let's see who you got, Big Ray.
You know, this is like maybe the unsung of the unsung, and only because we've been waiting to see the dude, and that's Kenny McIntosh.
You know today.
You know he had seven carries for thirty eight yards. He averaged almost five and a half yards have carried. His longest was sixteen yards. He also had two targets and two catches for seven yards in the passing game. But it was just good to see him out there. This dude is like, there's so much that we were expecting out of him when he came. When he got here, and then he didn't play much his rookie year or not at all his rookie year, and then this year it seemed like he was going to have an opportunities and then he just wasn't out there for whatever reason. So it was kind of really good to see him out there today showing that he can be an effective runner in this run game and that he can have a role on the offense. So didn't do a ton of things that contributed to the to the win today, but just to see him out there and being able to show to the Seahawks like, hey man, like you can depend on me, I can do some things.
I'm selecting him as my unsung hero.
I like it.
I like it be weezy my unsung hero. Today. Had one tackle that is his statlet, that's unsung that ends two years.
The thing he felt he made his presence fell and that's Derek Hall number fifty eight, and he drew three holding penalty. But other than that, it was so the interception to Kobe Bryant, he forced Kyler Murray to step up in that pocket and throw a very aaron ball. He had to get rid of it. He kept getting around that edge. He's dipping his shoulder, He's quick around that edge. There was a third and two later in the game and he did the exact same thing. It actually the drive that they missed the field goal. The Cardinals missed the field goal. Derek Hall was coming around the edge, forced Kyler Murray to step up and then he threw the ball out of the back of the end zone and forced him to kick a field goal. And that was a big third and two stop and they actually missing it. So he made his presence felt in other ways than the stat sheet.
All right, that's that, and you know it's funny. One tackle and he did have a presence today. Yeah, and there's no question that's a good one. I'm gonna go with Tyree Knight. He led the team and tackles with twelve. He led the team with passes defense today with two. So he's not just a guy who can stop the run, and he really has stepped up. And then you know again, to be a part of the passing game is so important. He had a big hit. I don't know if it was in the third or fourth quarter, big big hit.
So and he's just come on.
I mean, he's just so important to what has gone on with his defense, you know him and Ernest Jones. By the way, Ernest Jones, I finally saw him, mister tackle.
I saw the first one.
Yeah and so but yeah, that's my unsung hero or most impactful person non MVP Slash.
That's something's like here, I'm going.
I'm going with spoon Man.
Still didn't have interception, no passes defended. But he's like that the the cloud of gnats that you that you run through a ride through on your bike when you're you know, summertime, you're riding and you go through just a cloud of gnats. It's always around bothering you and talking to you too. And I just love the energy that he brings to the table. So I'm going with Spoon. He had seven tackles today, one TfL. He's put together quietly a good season. We haven't had any interceptions from him, but I think he's playing some good ball, especially lately.
So I'm going with Spoon.
It's a good one.
You know, I'm right underneath Spoon's you know, Leonard Williams. You got out quiet night. Oh he had seven tackles. Oh, he had two tackles for lost. Oh he had a pass defense.
He set the barcel high froms up.
I mean, it is crazy, what a year he's having.
Hey, Bom, you know what I appreciate about you.
You might have the best real life comparisons to certain things like a cloud of gnats.
That's what.
I need.
A reel of everything that you said. This is like dis in life and you just it's really good.
Man.
I'm always impressed. I always want to hear.
The thing I love about with.
The spoone to is he just seems like he's moving at like warp speed and everyone else is just moving at regularsly like that one pass out to the flat and he just came out of nowhere, outran the other two guys and made the tackle for for New York game. The dude just he can you know, even on the last Arizona game, I think it was when the pick six that that Kobe had was at Arizona. No, that was it was Arizona yea where he like forced the bat throat, huh, got up, made part of the block and then turned to the sideline and told him they were too short to get a penalty before we got into the zone. This dude is he moves at a different pace than everyone else.
You know what he He moves like a sea of nats.
He's like.
If nats. Yeah, Paul Moyer said at first, all right, well we come back. We'll give you our final thoughts.
That's next on your home for the Seahawks, Soulesports seven ten and Kyra new His radio ninety seven three FM.
This Hawk Talk postgame, a joint presentation of Cairo News Radio ninety seven to three FM and Seattle Sports.
Seahawks went on the roll of thirty to eighteen, being in the Arizona Cardinals and proving to eight and five first in the NFC West.
Big Ray, you hit us with some stats man, what you got for us?
Yeah, it was just Brady Henderson had pullsted that zach Sharbon. They had ninety one yards after contact today and obviously that fifty one yard run is a big part of that. But that was the most buyer running back in the league I think for the year. And then and for the second week in the row, Gino has been at the lowest UH percent play pressures of the year. So last week was the lowest and then this week was lower than that. So, uh, two weeks in the road has been good pass protection, he's been getting the ball out, uh, you know, been able to make plays, not putting the ball in harm's way, that whole nine. So things are trending in a good and to a good place, you know, with all of that coming into play with how well the offensive line played the last you know, the last week or so, so some good things could be around the corner for the Seahawks.
So Tyler Maya, that's what it is.
Why isn't he the unsung hero?
Then today you should have picked them.
I picked my eye for the right reason.
We're always an unsung heros.
If you told me week eight we're talking about this right now, I would have said, you're crazy about about what we're just the offensive line playing so well, and we're talking about the defense how well they're playing, stopping the.
Run, all this things. But then what what wait, what what do you mean? What what team are you watching? But here we are, we are difference what five weeks makes?
Look at us, look at look at us, look at us? Now what movies that we thought we'd be here.
Look at it, not me. I'm gonna find it now, driving us all night.
I just look at the Packers before we get up out of here.
Man.
The Packers lost to the Lions thirty four to thirty one. But I mean, we know that they're a capable team. The Packers have a good run game. As b Wall pointed out in the first hour, they got Jordan Love who has had some turnover issues, but we know that he's more than capable. This is in Big Ray pointed out that there's a gritty team, So the Hawks are starting to look gritty to me too, though, Big Ray, I think they got some.
Grit to him.
Yeah, absolutely, I think they're starting to find some answers. And like I said, like the way Big Cat is just kind of like, you know, since his press commerson around what was going wrong with the defense, it seemed like he just kind of found a way to make everything work for him in the defense, and then it seems like that has impacted things. And obviously having the two new line backers in there. But uh, you know, Green Bay is a team that you know is you know, I think Junior Love will I mean not Junior Love, but uh, you forget us firs.
We're going to do that all week, Jordan Love.
I think he will.
He'll give you opportunities to to to intercept the ball. He has eleven inceptions, so you got to imagine there hasn't been more that were dropped or just bad, bad throws. But I think the thing you have to do is when the Seattle's offense has to control the time of possession, they keep them off the field, and then when you finish drives, they have to finish with points hopefully touchdowns over field goals, because the the green Bay Packers have shown that they can fight themselves back into the game and then it then it becomes a you know, dog fight for the for the last two minutes of the game to kind of either secure the win or.
Get to win.
So it's going to be a tough, a tough game for the Seahawks here at home. Hopefully the fans show up and don't give out the ticket, don't sell your tickets to the Green Bay Packer fans that travel really well and make it hard on them that way too.
Yeah, look to me, if offense wi we get or defense, whet we get? Stop their rush. I mean we got to flat out say, okay, Jordan Love, you gotta beat us and throw it a you know, forty fifty times. It's he does throw a lot of interceptions. He's got eleven and eleven games. I think that's the key. You go look at their first down, passing first downs and rushing first down. They guys, I think almost as many rushing first downs as passing first downs. So that's what they want to do. They do some intricate stuff. So I'm really excited for this game. We're playing. Well, we should be excited to bring in the Packers here. Here's what I don't like. Listen up, twelves. Listen up, do not sell those tickets. Do not sell those tickets to the Packer fan. They come out in a forest. It will be like we were in Arizona today. They are going to get that lower Bowl, so you better come with it. It's going to be a battle.
I don't like this.
That's one thing that's just changed over the last few years. It is what it is because of the way you can get the secondary market tickets. But be prepared, man, it's going to be a battle. It's not going to be just a normal home home field advantage.
You know what the combined record is of the Packers losses to the teams the teams that the Packers have lost to the combined record, they've lost four games this year. They've lost the Lions, the Eagles, and the Vikings forty six and four.
Goodness.
That shows the Packers. They've they've had a tough little schedule playing in that in that conference over there. There are two losses of the Lions, one to the Vikings, and they've also played the Eagles, who are one of the best in their conference at eleven and two.
So they this is a huge test.
You're win the nine and five Seahawks as.
What I'm talking about. That But that's what I'm getting at here, That's what I'm getting at. They're gonna double their lost total. Uh more than double.
So there we go.
But yeah, stop the run. As simple as it sounds.
There plus nine, we're still minus well we are minus four going into today, right and so where we plus two today, they were plus two, So we're minus two. That's such a big one. We know that stat So that's another one. We just cannot lose that battle.
I feel like we got to start taking these stats after week eight.
Now I feel like it's a different team, So reset, let's see how we've been since week eight, then go from there, because it's it's just fun to watch this is this is a great battle. It's gonna be so fun to watch this game. And we'll have playoff complications and might be a little preview of the first round of the playoffs as well.
