What do you do to pass the time on a plane? 

Kevin Milne has just returned from another trip to Christchurch, flying back home yesterday after attending a family funeral. 

The flight path takes them right alongside the Southern Alps and Kaikoura Range, a stunning view that much to Kevin’s surprise, was being mostly ignored by other passengers. 

He joined Jack Tame with a question: why do people read books and magazines when there are astonishing views outside the window?

The ever-expanding Manuka Phuel Synthony Festival is officially returning in March next year. 

The first performers have been announced, and on performing alongside the likes of Paul Okenfold and Ladyhawke is New Zealand’s own L.A.B. 

They’ve gone from strength to strength since their conception a decade ago and show no signs of slowing down – continuing to punch out hit after hit. 

Frontman Joel Shadbolt told Jack Tame they’d been approached to play at Synthony before, and they finally agreeed. 

“It’s one of those gigs that, yeah, like you said, it’s just massive, y’know, and the production and the crowd and every year it just seems to get bigger and bigger,” he said. 

“It’s one of the biggest stages that we would have played on.”

Whether they listened to the early days of 1ZB, or tuned in after its transition to the news powerhouse that is Newstalk ZB, most people have at least one memory associated with the station.

Auckland's redeveloped Western Springs Bowl is hosting its first concert since its $2.5 million transformation.    

UK popstar Olivia Dean's appearing in the former Western Springs Stadium on October 17th – the show moved from Spark Arena due to high ticket demand. 

Chris Schulz has heard word that it could be the biggest show by the end of the summer – bigger than Guns N’ Roses, Robbie Williams, The Foo Fighters, and System of a Down. 

He joined Jack Tame to chat about Dean’s rising star and the inside look at Western Springs he got before it officially opens to the public.
