Technology is constantly progressing, which means were often left with old, outdated, or broken electronics we have no use for. 

So what do you do with them? Since you can't just throw away your old electronics and appliances, Kate Hall has compiled some information on where they should go instead. 

• Mobile phones, laptops, chargers, cables and tablets can often be recycled through retailers like Noel Leeming and other approved e-waste collection points. 
• Larger appliances such as vacuum cleaners, microwaves and printers should be taken to your local e-waste recycling facility or transfer station. Sometimes the company accepts old appliances for responsible recycling or parts reclamation. 
• Before recycling, ask yourself whether the item could be repaired, donated or refurbished. Extending the life of electronics is almost always the most sustainable option. 
• Delete personal data from phones, laptops and tablets before donating or recycling them.
