Beebadoobie has taken a hard swing into the 90s in her latest album. 

'Pylon' is the fourth album from the Filipino-British musician and is filled with touches of classic grunge, midwest emo, and ‘90s radio rock. 

The album also features collaborations with Hayley Williams, Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, Chino Moreno of Deftones and Pinegrove’s Evan Stephens Hall. 

Chris Schulz joined Jack Tame to share his thoughts on the album.

It's hardly your average father-son enterprise. 

UB40 has been rolling out the hits since 1978, and over the years they've had their dramas and a few personnel changes.  

And now founding member Robin Campbell has been joined on stage by his son Matt – the pair lining up behind the mics together, touring the world, and performing songs written before Matt was born. 

In 2027, the band is coming to New Zealand with their new Unstoppable World Tour. 

It's been nearly fifty years since UB40 first began, and Robin confessed that he didn't for a minute expect to still be performing after so long. 

"My ambitions probably stretched to maybe getting a decade out of it," he told Jack Tame. 

"To get to here, we are literally 48 years later since we started, it's what dreams are made of, I've spent my entire life doing something I love." 

Robin says the tour is named 'Unstoppable' for a reason, as it's effectively how they feel at the moment.  

"We literally feel like we're having the most fun we've had in a long time." 

While the band has been in existence for nearly fifty years, Matt was not, and only joined the line up in 2023. 

"To be honest, it was never anything that I'd kind of dreamt of doing in that respect, but it's something that I kind of feel has come naturally in that sense," he told Tame. 

"It's really it's an honour and a privilege really to be part of the band, to be welcomed into the band by everybody. And, not only performing with my dad, but performing with, essentially everybody, everyone in the band I've known my whole life." 

"It's a really special thing to be involved with."

Scientists are still developing new pigments, with the last major inorganic pigment to be discovered in 2009 – YInMn Blue, a near perfect shade of blue. 

Kevin Milne joined Jack Tame to chat about the world of pigments and the ongoing hunt for the "perfect red".
