At the age of 60, Naina decided to get married. She eventually met someone from New Zealand who was looking for a partner in India. However, after moving to India, she discovered that this was actually his third marriage, not his first, as he had claimed. Throughout their 10-year marriage, she was treated more like a maid than a wife, with very little communication between them. Though she accompanied him overseas and was introduced as his wife, she was never truly treated as one.
