Hundreds of Future Shop employees showed up to work on Saturday to unexpectedly find the doors locked at 66 locations across Canada.

1,500 workers are now out of work, with many being owed severance pay.

While Future Shop (now Best Buy) claims that they have complied with employment standards with regards to severance pay, employment lawyer Lior Samfiru at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP reveals that the severance packages are extremely inappropriate, and miss the mark entirely.

Samfiru joined The John Oakley Show on Talk Radio AM640 to discuss employee rights where severance pay is concerned.
