I’ve been on LTD for 2 years due to bipolar anxiety and PTSD. My doctor and psychiatrist say I should not return to work, I’m 36 years old. My insurance company is saying I'm ready to go back as I’m up to the 1-year mark. My last payment will be august 30th.

My wife is 29 yrs old and has had depression for years. Recently she got better while focusing on her health and has run a marathon. In the past year issues at work have caused her to spiral back into depression. Her therapist thinks she should be off work. She was on short term disability and she recently applied for LTD but was denied. The insurer says she doesn’t qualify as her anxiety and depression are work-related.

After a return to work, my condition worsened but now my adjuster is refusing my claim. Should I appeal?

I'm 42 and have worked as a mechanical engineer for 15 yrs. I was off on LTD for a neurological disorder. After working with my neurologist and getting new medication my condition improved somewhat, enough to agree to try a gradual return to work. I did return with my doctor's blessing but now the medication appears to not be as effective as I thought and I need to stop working. I gave my adjuster a letter from my neurologist saying I need to be off work but the adjuster refused to put me back on LTD.
