While political parties are going back and forth with each other and while there is this looming threat of possible instability, there is a need to once again elevate the voice of the people.



What needs to happen and how can it happen? Is there no more room for the people’s voices to be heard? Are we voiceless in determining what sort of coalition our country goes into and who leads this government of national unity?



What do leaders need to consider when looking at the social, moral and economic fibre of the country?

Buhlebendalo was born and raised in Soweto - she is no stranger to the stage, having served as a singer, songwriter and producer with her previous group The Soil. 

The Philanthropist, Storyteller, Healer and Visionary has embarked on her Solo Career and her debut album Chosi is a much needed conversation starter to those seeking understanding of self- through spirituality.

In the past two years Buhlebendalo has made an incredible mark as a solo Artist. After being called to perform at Johannesburg Film festival 2022, her storytelling took flight and opened doors to big productions like Shaka Ilembe where she wrote a score called Ilembe in 2023. One of her biggest highlights was performing at the prestigious and international Standard Bank Joy of Jazz in 2023.

PROFILE:  BUHLEBENDALO

Ladles of Love is a non-profit organisation primarily providing daily nutrition to children one – six years old via a network of under-resourced Early Childhood Development Centres  in impoverished communities across the Western Cape, Northern Cape and Gauteng. The project is the brainchild of Danny Diliberto, who started his first soup kitchen in 2014 serving hundreds of homeless people in Cape Town, nutritious meals every week.

Danny was born in Zimbabwe to a Jewish mother and an Italian father, and he believes it was the love for food in his home that helped him grow up understanding the importance of well-prepared food.  He believes that it was this love for food and the hospitality that his home offered to friends and family that attracted him to the restaurant industry, and it was through this work that he eventually founded Ladles of Love. Today through his wonderful organisation he can touch millions of peoples’ lives through food.

This year, in the spirit of ubuntu Ladles of Love, are aiming to break another world record on 18 July -  “The largest number of volunteers paying to spend 67 minutes on Mandela Day in service to grow children in need”. 



They are inviting the public to participate in their biggest fundraising event to date. In one day, Ladles of Love has one goal - raise R5 million for food with one love, to nourish 5,500+ small children in impoverished communities. By purchasing a ticket, you commit to spending 67 minutes in active service making items to help nurture and grow little ones at pre-school centers and shelters.

COALITION - WHAT IS IDEAL FOR SOUTH AFRICAN RIGHT NOW?

The ANC has been speaking to political parties in a bid to form a government after it failed to win last week’s elections with an outright majority, the first time since 1994. The secretary general, Fikile Mbalula said negotiations were informed by the readiness to compromise and to accept the goodwill of the people.



The party was expected to announce the outcomes of its coalition talks and reveal who their chosen coalition partners are.

This announcement was supposed to be at 6pm this evening -  two hours later the nation is still waiting.
