1. Namibia- Windhoek
Namibia decides 2024
Namibia's Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah could become the country’s first female president if she wins the presidential election on Wednesday.
At least 1.4 million people, or about half of the population, have registered to vote in the elections, with 15 political parties running for president and seats in the National Assembly.
2. Mozambique – Maputo
Mozambique Post Election Dialogue: Chapo and Momade confirms presence at presidential candidate meeting today
Outgoing Mozambican head of state Filipe Jacinto Nyusi has invited the candidates for the October presidential elections to a meeting today to “discuss the situation in the country in the post-election period”.
The meeting will take place in Filipe Nyusi’s office in Maputo on Tuesday at 16:00 (14:00 in Lisbon), involving candidates Daniel Chapo, Venâncio Mondlane, Lutero Simango and Ossufo Momade.

Somalia Reopens Foreign Ministry Archives After 30 Years
Somalia's Foreign Minister, Ahmed Macallim Fiqi, has officially reopened the Ministry of Foreign Affairs archive centre, marking the first time the facility has been operational in more than three decades since the country's civil war.

UN evacuation in Haiti, police assault stronghold of gang leader ‘Barbecue’
Insecurity in Haiti is rising again, forcing embassies and United Nations agencies to evacuate the capital amid gang-fuelled violence.
The United Nations has ordered the evacuation of its staff from Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince as clashes between armed gangs, the police and civilians armed with machetes intensified in recent days.
