1. Qatar- DR Congo- M23
The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo and M23 rebels are expected to engage in peace talks in Qatar today.
The country's army said rebels had withdrawn from the mining hub of Walikale as decided during talks in March.
2. Gabon – Libreville
As Gabon decides in 72 hours, A Commonwealth Observer Group (COG) has arrived in Libreville, Gabon to prepare for the nation’s first presidential election since the unconstitutional transfer of power in August 2023.
3. Ethiopia- Tigray
Lt. Gen. Tadesse Werede was named the interim president of the Tigray region on Tuesday, replacing Getachew Reda.
Before his appointment, Tedese acted as the deputy president of Tigray’s interim administration and head of the cabinet secretariat for peace and security.

An open letter addressed to UN Women at the 2026 Commission on the Status of Women raises urgent concerns about the African Union Convention on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (AU CEVAWG). While intended as a landmark treaty, the letter argues that the Convention in its current form weakens existing protections and fails to deliver on its promise of rights, justice, and action for African women and girls.
