There's been another fatal shooting at Walter Sisulu University in the Eastern Cape. A  senior official at the University, the Deputy Vice Chancellor  for Institutional Support and Development Sinethemba Mpambani has been shot dead outside the institution's Nelson Mandela Drive Campus in Mthatha. Police discovered the victim deceased inside a stationary vehicle, and the motive of the killing is unknown at this stage. Police are still investigating. Environment Minister, Willie Aucamp has decided to push ahead and rule on appeals against environmental authorisations for key offshore oil and gas exploration projects. The decision comes against a backdrop of sharply rising global oil prices fueled by ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
