US State Department withdraws outgoing SA ambassador's privileges and diplomatic immunities.

Outgoing U.S. Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool's privileges and diplomatic immunities will cease after the State Department indicated that it will no longer recognize him as a member of the South Africa Embassy. Rasool is expected to depart the country ahead of a March 21st deadline. This as the first public comments from the State Department following his Friday expulsion labelled the Ambassador's comments to the Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection as falling short of diplomatic standards that could facilitate the relationship with USA and that the Rasool's description equating the United States with white supremacy cast the country in an awful light.
