The United Nations Human Rights Council has called for the immediate withdrawal of sanctions against judges and prosecutors of the International Criminal Court. This follows the latest round of designations which brings the total number of sanctions on ICC prosecutors and judges to eleven. Special Rapporteur on Independence of judges and lawyers, Margaret Satterthwaite says such santions send a chilling message to victims of atrocities and their advocates, who rely on judges and prosecutors for accountability. Our producer, Asanda Ntame caught up with Satterthwaite and first asked her to confirm the number of ICC judges and prosecutors that have been sanctioned by the US.
