Security provider awaits Gauteng payment after 15 months 

Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs says it will recommend that the national Treasury considers increasing the budget allocation for the Border Management Authority. The committee concluded its two-day oversight visit at the Musina repatriation centre and the Beitbridge Border Post in Limpopo. The oversight visit focused on assessing border operations and the ongoing repatriation process. Committee chairperson Musa Chabane says the additional funding would strengthen border management operations. Home Affairs committee backs tougher migration and border reforms. 

The Madlanga Commission has heard allegations that the head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), Advocate Andrea Johnson, asked former journalist and now AfriForum spokesperson Barry Bateman to source a document relating to a criminal complaint against suspended Deputy Crime Intelligence head, Major General Feroz Khan. The complaint stemmed from a case of common assault and intimidation opened by Crime Intelligence officer Brigadier Phetle, who allegedly accused Khan of assaulting her with a pen. Retired Colonel Kobus Roelofse, formerly attached to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI/Hawks), told the Commission that Khan received the contents of the criminal docket despite being the suspect and therefore not being entitled to access it.
