The Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and the Department of Social Development have launched Children's Month 2026. This year's theme is "Safe to Play. Free to Thrive" and focuses on protecting children's rights and safe spaces for play. The campaign comes as many children still face violence, poverty and limited recreational opportunities.
