National Council of SPCAs describes animal cruelty at Daybreak Foods as "one of the worst" they've ever dealt with

The National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) says it will pursue full prosecution of Daybreak for abandonment, neglect, and unnecessary cruelty of animals. This comes after it the NSPCA culled over 200-thousand chickens at poultry farm operated by Daybreak Foods near Delmas, Mpumalanga. The chickens were severely neglected, left without feed for days, resulting in mass cannibalism. The state owned poultry company is grappling with significant financial constraints that have hindered its operational capabilities.  Sakina Kamwendo spoke to NSPCA spokesperson, Jacques Peacock
