The Pietermaritzburg High Court is today hearing an urgent interdict from expelled National Freedom Party (NFP) chairperson MbaliShinga, who is seeking an urgent court interdict to halt her removal from the provincial legislature. Shinga is challenging her expulsion and wants the Pietermaritzburg High Court to prevent the Speaker from swearing in NFP president Ivan Barnes as her replacement. Mbhele's Confident Court Will Halt NFP’s Mbali Shinga's KZN Legislature removal

The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro authorities in the Eastern Cape say they are ready to house communities should the need  arise. No evacuations or major incidents have been reported thus far  following level eight warning  of disruptive rains in the Nelson Mandela Bay and surroundings. South Africa is expected to begin the formal extradition process to secure the return of two suspects linked to the murder of a couple in the Kruger National Park.The suspects were arrested in Mozambique earlier this week in connection with the murders of two tourists, Dina and Ernst Marais. The couple from Mossel Bay, Western Cape, was brutally killed at the Crooks Corner viewpoint at the intersection of Limpopo and Levubu rivers in the northern side of the park.
