The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has adjourned for today and will resume on Wednesday morning. North West Businessman Brown Mogotsi, was today expected back on the stand,but failed to appear, citing illness. Evidence leader Advocate Matthew Chaskalson told the commission a medical certificate is expected by end of day. Chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga declared Mogotsi in contempt for now and indicated the commission may initiate legal proceedings but any consequences will be addressed on Wednesday once the certificate is reviewed. This comes as the inquiry races toward its March 17 deadline to wrap up its probe into criminality and corruption in the justice system.
