An expert witness has told the Judicial Conduct Tribunal that her earlier analysis of the exchanges between Judges' Secretary, Andiswa Mengo and Eastern Cape Judge President, Selby Mbenenge, does not seek to patronise Mengo. Lisa Vetten says her analysis seeks to illustrates the power dynamics involved when the accused is in a position of authority. She is testifying a landmark probe into a complaint against Mbenenge, in which Mengo alleges that she was sexually harassed in in-person and electronic interactions with the judge between June 2021 and November 2022.
