Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana says the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) is facing governance failures rather than financial difficulties. In an exclusive interview with the SABC team of Samkele Maseko and Busi Bopela, Godongwana says several institutions, including the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, the Auditor-General, the Special Investigating Unit and the Public Protector, are probing governance concerns at the asset manager. He says the PIC remains financially sound, but the newly appointed board must restore confidence and strengthen governance.

UEFA threatens legal action over FIFA investment plans. 

Thirteen families displaced by the 2022 floods say they have been left homeless after being evicted from temporary accommodation in Durban's Point precinct. The families have been sleeping on the pavement outside the one of the buildings on Mahatma Gandhi Road since Monday. They claim other flood victims have been relocated to permanent housing, while they were told they do not qualify because they earn above the 3-thousand-500 rand income threshold or had previously registered for RDP houses. Flood-displaced Durban families say housing notice came late. 

The Western Cape High Court is today hearing the DA's constitutional challenge to the Expropriation Act. The party wants the law declared unconstitutional and invalid, arguing that the process leading to its adoption was flawed and that it infringes on constitutionally protected property rights. President Cyril Ramaphosa signed, the Expropriation Act in January 2025.  DA MP Ashor Sarupen says the party is in court to protect the property rights of all South Africans and opposes what it describes as legislation that legalises land grabs. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC reporter Andile Mbanjwa
