Political analyst Ongama Mtimka says at the parliamentary level, Government of National Unity (GNU) partners are likely to adopt a cautious and restrained approach on accountability, prioritising political stability over open confrontation. Mtimka’s comments come after the Constitutional Court ruled today that the Phala Phala vote was invalid and unconstitutional. The court upheld an application by the EFF and ATM, setting aside the National Assembly's vote of 13 December 2022. The matter now returns to Parliament's impeachment committee for reconsideration, reopening a probe into President Cyril Ramaphosa's handling of the Phala Phala farm theft saga. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to political analyst Ongama Mtimka.
