The repatriation of South Africa's former Ambassador to France Nathi Mthethwa's remains from Paris is set to begin after a post-mortem, possibly this Sunday. Deputy Minister of International Relations and Co-operation Alvin Botes confirmed this while speaking to media at Mthethwa's KwaMbonambi home in northern KwaZulu-Natal. Mthethwa died in Paris on Tuesday after reportedly falling from the 22nd floor of a hotel. French authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, with early reports suggesting it may have been a suicide, though his family in KZN disputes this claim. A police Captain is appearing in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court today, facing allegations of defrauding the South African Police Service (SAPS) of millions of rand. The South African National Civic Organisation, SANCO in Gauteng has rejected Premier Panyaza Lesufi's recent cabinet reshuffle and called for his immediate resignation. The civic organisation says the changes sideline the Alliance and insult residents. SANCO is criticising the appointment of former Ekurhuleni Finance MMC Nkululeko Dunga to the Finance portfolio in Gauteng. SANCO has also condemned handing the Economic Development portfolio to Rise Mzansi, which holds one seat, calling it political horse trading.
