View descriptionShare

The Mahwelereng magistrate's court has postponed the bail application of the paternal grandparents of two- year- old Omphile Sithole, who disappeared from Ga- Mabuela village outside Mokopane in Limpopo. This to allow the defense to verify a newly submitted address that the accused persons will reside at if granted bail. The grandparents, Vinolia Mabuela and Jacob Ledwaba, aged 52 and 55, are facing charges of child neglect under the Child Care Act. The toddler went missing on May 2, 2026, after her grandmother woke up and found the bedroom window open. The search for Omphile remains ongoing, with police appealing to the community for any information. Meanwhile, the presiding magistrate Maureen Ngobeni, postponed the matter to the 27th of May. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC News reporter Katlego Nyoni
