South Gauteng director of public prosecutions advocate Andrew Chauke has been suspended pending an inquiry into his fitness to hold office. President Cyril Ramaphosa suspended Chauke, citing serious accusations and growing concern over politically sensitive prosecutorial decisions. Meanwhile;Public Interest SA  says it welcomes the announcement by the Presidency confirming the immediate suspension of Adv. Andrew Chauke, Director of Public Prosecutions in the South Gauteng Division, in accordance with Section 14(3) read with Section 12(6)(a) of the National Prosecuting Authority Act.Public Interest SA  says decision, though significantly delayed, marks a critical step towards restoring public confidence in the prosecutorial integrity...
