Doctors at Letaba hospital outside Tzaneen in Limpopo say they've tested a high number of children for bilharzia. More than 150 cases have been recorded so far. Health authorities indicate that they're awaiting results from more samples collected from the learners. The water borne disease have affected learners at several villages including Petanenge, Khujwana, and Dan amongst others.
