The South African Union of Students has reiterated its call for government to address the disparity between the high number of matriculants who qualify for university degrees and the low number of spaces available at university level. The union's calls comes as the minister of Higher Education, Dr Nobuhle Nkabane, is is today beginning her oversight visit to the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, in the Eastern Cape province. During this visit, minister Nkabane, is expected to engage with university management and student representatives to iron out the issues of registration, accommodation and financial aid clearance, among other issues highlighted by the South African Union of Students.
