All thirty-three branches of the ANC in the Frances Baard Region have thrown their weight and support behind Sol Plaatje Mayor, Mangaliso Matika who is under pressure to step down following the municipality's handing of the controversial electricity tariff hike that was proposed for the city. Municipality Manager Goolam Akhawaray and CFO Lydia Matlhoko have been suspected. Meanwhile communities are planning another indefinite shutdown for the city starting from Wednesday. One of the branch leaders, Bernet van Wyk elaborates.
