Residents of the Soul City informal settlement in Kagiso on Gauteng's West Rand say they are living in fear of illegal miners who they say are living in the community. The residents say they are scared of being murdered as they face danger on an almost daily basis. Four suspected illegal miners were killed during a shooting incident in the settlement at the weekend. Three others were injured and taken to hospital. The deceased are three Lesotho nationals and a Mozambican. Police says the victims were seen being chased and shot at, by a group of armed suspects from a nearby illegal mining site.
