Just over half of companies in the travel and tourism sector in South Africa have retrenched their staff in the last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That's according to the Association of Southern African Travel Agents. The industry has been the hardest hit by the pandemic with hundreds of thousands of jobs being shed.
