Workers in South Africa's education sector will not receive their vaccines this week. That's because the United States medicines regulator, the Food and Drug Administration or FDA", has not yet given the go ahead for the Johnson&Johnson jabs to be released. J&J has offered South Africa 480-thousand doses of the vaccine -- a batch with a shelf life of three weeks. The government made a decision to accept the offer and roll out the batch to workers in the education sector. The FDA needs to determine whether the J&J vaccine was contaminated with ingredients of AstraZeneca's COVID shot. Prabashini Moodley reports...

Election manifestos inadequately addressing issues effecting women

The advancement of digital technology is having a major, and often detrimental impact on the mental health of internet users. That's according to Clinical Psychologist and author of "A Time to Heal," Dr Rani Samuel. Her comments follow recent reports of a teenager from the UK being gang raped in a virtual reality game. According to reports, the teenager - was using a Virtual Reality headset in an immersive game when her avatar was allegedly assaulted by other avatars representing several men. She is said to have been left distraught following the incident. Prabashini Moodley reports.....

The class of 2023, has been advised that university is not the only post matric route that one can follow and not gaining access to a prestigious tertiary institution is not all doom and gloom. Last week, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga announced that the class of 2023 achieved an 82-point nine percent pass rate. 40.9 percent of students achieved a bachelor's pass, 27.2 percent achieved a diploma pass, and 14.8 percent achieved a higher certificate pass. This means, while some will gain entry to University, many have not met the requirements. Career counselor Telishia Thinnasagaren-Chellan says, the possibilities who those leaving school are endless as Prabashini Moodley reports....
