Young girls will be are among the first groups that will have access to the newly-approved HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis drug. The fixed dose combination drug, which was recently approved by the Medicines Control Council, will be used in preventing HIV transmission for those groups who engage in risky sexual behaviour.
