International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight champion Simphiwe “Chain Reaction” Konkco is going to become the first South African boxer to challenge for the World Boxing Council (WBC) title in almost eight years. This follows after the WBC approved Konkco as the challenger to reigning WBC minimumweight champion Chayaphon Moonsri popularly known as Wanheng Menayothin.
