Darren Sutton is a Nelson-raised lad, who now works in the Waikato, as a Farmwise Consultant for LIC… He’s been thinking about the climate in the Waikato recently, and he’s noticed that total rainfall over the past years has been close to average, but the spread has changed… Extremely dry autumns and very wet winters means June can be the fastest growing month for pasture, in Waikato, even more than Feb to April combined… So, he reckons farmers need to adapt to what’s happening.
