Lions coach Swys de Bruin admits that his team could come into the Super Rugby competition undercooked after only playing one warm-up friendly against the Bulls. De Bruin says he is not too bothered about that considering that the season ahead is long and the exercise was only done to give fringe players an opportunity to stake their claim in the team. He says the departure of head coach Johan Ackermann for England and defence coach JP Ferreira for Ireland was a huge blow to the side but believes that they have competent assistant coaches in Joey Mongalo and Philip Lemmer.
