On Royston's Sporting Roundup we welcomed Josh Tranter from Central Australian Rugby Union (CARU) to share an update on the exciting developments and major initiatives taking place in rugby union this season at ANZAC Oval.

Rugby union in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) is entering an important period of rebuilding, renewal and growth, with a renewed focus on strengthening the game, building community connections and creating opportunities for players of all ages and backgrounds. Since its foundations were established in 1986, the local rugby union community has continued to evolve, becoming an increasingly vibrant and multicultural part of life in the Red Centre.

With people from diverse cultural backgrounds bringing their passion, skills and enthusiasm to the sport, rugby union is helping to unite the community through teamwork, participation and a shared love of the game. Josh joined us to talk about where the club and competition are heading, what supporters and players can look forward to this season, and how CARU is working to build a stronger and more inclusive future for rugby union in Central Australia
