The Roy Green Show Podcast

-

What to do with returning (or wanting to return) to Canada ISIS terrorists who left this nation to become ISIS terrorists and participate in gruesome violence? Some argue reintegration into Canadian society without criminal charges is the best approach.  Others demand criminal charges and prison time if convicted, pointing out we are still pursuing the few still living Nazi World War II criminals. Our guest Tom Quiggin has had his expertise on the "reliability of intelligence as evidence" recognized by the Federal Court of Canada. He joins Roy to discuss.

Celia Walden joins Roy to discuss her newest international newspaper column this week: ‘Enough man-bashing - traditional masculinity is not toxic.’

U.S. President Donald Trump made a televised offer to Democrats in Congress, regarding border security and the government shutdown, yesterday. This in the midst of the very public fight between President Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with Pelosi urging Trump to delay his State of the Union Address and Trump cancelling Pelosi's plan to use a military aircraft for a series of foreign visits, including visiting troops in Afghanistan. Roy and public diplomacy expert William Ogborn cover these topics as well as Brexit and Canada’s relations with China, among other things.

In the middle of a brutal cold snap in Southern Ontario, Toronto has ordered its homeless population to dismantle their makeshift shelters and tents. Our guest Joe Warmington spent time with the homeless in Toronto this week. And something Roy witnessed before the show was all too relevant to the conversation.

Guests:

Tom Quiggin, Court-qualified expert on terrorism (criminal court and federal court), worked as an intelligence expert with the RCMP, U.N., CAF, Bank of Canada; author of ‘Submission: The Danger of Political Islam to Canada (With a Warning to America)’
