Story of the Year played Rock Fest in Cadott for the very first time this weekend with a brilliant set on Saturday evening on the Bud Light "Who's On Top" stage. Before they climbed the hill & performed, we got them in the booth at Rock Fest for an interview. We talked about being from St. Louis, their upcoming tour with Silverstein, and learning ninja skills for shooting music videos.

After absolutely KILLING it on stage in the blistering heat last Friday at Rock Fest, the guys in Autumn Kings swung by the booth and sat down for a chat. They were definitely one of the stand-outs last weekend with a memorable set. We discussed their favorite Canadian food, their new album coming out later this year, and what it felt like to pop their music festival cherry!!!

On Saturday of Rock Fest, Kami Kehoe was playing the Bud Light "Who's On Top" stage at 5:15pm.  And before her appearance up the hill, she stopped by the 95.7 The Rock/92.9 The X booth for a quick interview. We talked about her career, her upcoming new album, getting covered in black goo for a video shoot, and her touring plans for this fall.

2026 is the year for the 27th Annual "Anatomy Awards" from Mr. Skin of MrSkin.com, highlighting some of the best nudity as well as the craziest and wildest scenes on film and television over the last year. This year, he’s handing out over 40 awards celebrating those who gave us a unique thrill over the last year! We got Mr. Skin on the phone for our yearly chat to discuss the list and some of the more interesting categories!

Hairball is coming to the Onalaska Omni Center this Saturday night and Patrick Stone will be on-stage, singing some of your all-time favorite hits! We got Patrick on the phone to talk about his lengthy career in rock & roll, meeting Lemmy for the first time, his battles with addiction & mental health, and much more! Before the Hairball show at the Omni Center, Patrick will also participate in a live discussion and Q&A at the Radisson Hotel in La Crosse with "Building a Refuge".

Brandon Leum is the founder of "Building a Refuge". An organization focused on bringing the message of hope & encouragement to men. Their mission is to assist in building a community resources to walk with them through life. We got him on the phone to learn more about the organization and talk about their upcoming event in La Crosse this weekend. And they are hosting an event from noon until 1:30pm this Saturday at the Radisson Hotel in La Crosse to coincide with the Hairball show at the Omni Center on Saturday night. Patrick Stone from Hairball will be taking part in a live discussion and Q&A that afternoon, sharing stories about the tragic loss of his sister to suicide at a young age, and how his life took many difficult turns along the way. Through those challenges, Patrick ultimately found faith in Christ and the strength to pursue sobriety. Today, Patrick has been sober for more than 15 years and continues to use his platform to share a message of hope, recovery, faith, and resilience. He also actively supports missions like Building a Refuge, which is dedicated to supporting men’s mental health. This Live Discussion and Q&A will give attendees a rare opportunity to hear Patrick’s story, ask questions, and have an honest conversation about mental health, faith, recovery, and overcoming life’s toughest challenges. Grant Bilse from the Wisco Sports Show is in California this week for the Super Bowl on Sunday. So, we got him on the phone to see what kind of celebrities he's seen, what guests he's talking to this week, what the food & drink situation is, and what his prediction is for the big game.

With the Big River Rally rapidly approaching, we got on the phone with Howard Kelly...the VP of Marketing for S&S Cycle in Viola, WI. The guided ride on Saturday, June 28th which will be led by Bill "The Big Unit" Michaels, will leave from La Crosse & head out to Viola to visit the S&S Cycle facility. We talked to Howard about his lengthy career in the world of motorcycles, the history of S&S, the one-of-a-kind tour we'll be taking once we get to S&S, and about his favorite part of working for an industry leader.

We once again got on the phone with Mr. Skin of MrSkin.com to talk about this year's edition of his annual Anatomy Awards as we lead up to the Oscars on Sunday. It's his 26th edition of the list and this year's rundown includes some extremely odd categories including "Best Rab-TIT", "Best Sassquirt", and "Best Reverse Teeter-Totter" to name a few. After crushing it at the La Crosse Center last weekend, we got Eva(Amanda) from Eva Under Fire on the phone to recap the band's performance at the Riverfront Revolt, when we can expect new music from them, what it's like being in a band with your spouse, and all sorts of other stuff.

As we get closer to next weekend's "Riverfront Revolt" at the La Crosse Center, featuring Asking Alexandria, Beartooth, Starset, Memphis May Fire, Pop Evil, & Eva Under Fire...we got on the phone with the frontman of Pop Evil, Leigh Kakaty! We talked about the upcoming new album from the band, how things have morphed over the years with lineup changes, what to expect when they hit the stage next Saturday, and what is the least "rock-star" thing he does.

Legendary comedian, Colin Mochrie from "Whose Line Is It Anyway", joined Brian on the phone just before the New Year to talk about his upcoming shows with his partner-in-comedy, Brad Sherwood, at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee & the Pablo Center at the Confluence in Eau Claire. The hilarious live improv show "Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood: Asking For Trouble" is making it's way through the Midwest, and Colin joined us to talk about his comedic influences, dealing with hecklers, working on the "Red Green" show and much more!

We talked about Rock Fest celebrating it's 30th year in 2024, and tried to get some inside info from Wade about what to expect this year. Ari Lehman was the first actor to ever play Jason Vorhees in the "Friday the 13th" franchise. His scene at the end of the film really solidified the fact that Jason NEVER dies!!! After his appearance in the first "Friday the 13th" film, Ari went on to have a successful film career and is now touring with his band, "First Jason", where he plays a mean keytar! We got Ari on the phone this week to talk about his career, his favorite Jason kill, and all sorts of other things.

Grant Bilse from the Wisco Sports Show on WKTY is spending the week in Arizona for Brewers Spring Training! He's also staying with his Nana....so we thought it would be a good time to get him on the line to talk about the Brewers, the Bucks, and the Aaron Rodgers saga!

On Thursday, November 17th, Vince Ristow from the La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner came to the Rock studio to talk about this year's dinner, and we were able to help with a $1,000 donation from 95.7 The Rock's Rock Foundation! With the success of "Ramon Ayala" from Giovannie & the Hired Guns, Brian got frontman Giovannie Yanez on the phone to talk about the band's path to success, who Ramon Ayala is, what's coming up in the future for the group, and a bunch of other stuff! Leading up to the 2022 Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 20th, Brian & Doc got Kyle Rickey of the MRN(Motor Racing Network) on the phone to talk about the race. Kyle Rickey is a Turn Announcer on NASCAR Cup Series Broadcasts, spends time in the turns and the booth on NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series broadcasts, and you can hear him every day as the Host and Producer of NASCAR Hot Pass. Kyle now lives in Connecticut after spending 9 years living near the MRN headquarters in Concord, NC. Kyle’s been with the network since 2002. He has spent time as track announcer at Thompson, Stafford, and Waterford speedways and also once worked as the Media Coordinator at Killingly (CT) Public School District. In his spare time he enjoys go kart racing and theme parks all across the country. 

On Tuesday, February 9th, we got a visit from Amy Gabay of La Crosse Local & Jay Breier from the La Crosse Center to talk about the "La Crosse Winter Roots Festival" at the Center on February 12th. Featuring food, beverages, live music, local artists and more!

Smile Empty Soul is coming to Angry's Way Out this Friday night & we talked to their frontman, Sean Danielsen, about the show, cigars, and what's going on with the band this fall.
