Meet Harry! He came to us as a stray with his old man lumps and droopy red eyes. He looked at us with a lost look, wondering where he was. He calmly walked along with us to the kennel, not worried about where we led him.
Handsome Harry is a loveable black and white Beagle mix. Harry is a deaf, older gent who is looking for a nice carpet to rest his old bones on. While he was given a bed with blankets, he chose to sleep on the floor instead. So, we took his bed away and replaced it with several soft blankets and some stuffed toys piled up for him to nap on. Simple things seem to make him quite happy. He sleeps with a couple of stuffed toys so he doesn't feel so alone. We give him ear scratches and he seems to really enjoy them.
Harry is looking for a simple life. He would like to spend his remaining time on Earth enjoying the cool grass on his belly while laying in the sun, a warm fire in the winter or a soft spot to lay next to the heat vent, and places to sniff to keep his nose in good working order. His requirements are simple: good food, soft treats, and loving scratches. Please contact Van Buren County Animal Control at 269-621-4624 or visit the shelter at 58040 County Road 681, Hartford, MI 49057 to learn more about the handsome and worthy-of-love Harry.
