It’s been just over a year since Parker McCollum and wife, Hallie Ray tied the knot and the couple is as in love as ever.

During a recent interview with Audacy’s Rob + Holly, Parker shared some of the lessons he’s learned in his first years of marriage and explained just how much he loves being a husband.

“It’s kind of nice to have an opportunity in life to step up and deliver in not only my career, but at home too,” he said. “As much as you put into it is what you’ll get out of it, so I’ve embraced the opportunity.”

Beautifully said by the 30-year-old, who also laughed while explaining some of the not-so glam moments. “We’ve been remodeling this house for a few months, that was kind of our anniversary gift,” Parker shared. “My Dad was like, ‘You’re domesticated now,’ and I was like, ‘Yes I am.’”

He continued, “I take the trash out on Tuesdays, remodeling a house, landscaping, I’m talkin’ to my pool guy, I’m like — ‘How did we get here?’” he laughed.

One year of marriage isn’t the only big celebration for McCollum. The Texas-native is also celebrating having the #1 song in Country music this week with, “Handle On You,” and will release his new album, Never Enough, Friday May 12.

“Every way that I approach Country music I’m trying to be legit and be the real deal and not ever [be] phoning it in,” Parker said of his career. Fans can expect a lot more “legit” Country from Parker on the forthcoming album, available Friday.
