Luke Combs | Friday Night Takeover

View descriptionShare

Luke Combs is creating a storm this summer with his new single, “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma,” which he wrote for the movie Twisters, a standalone sequel to the 1996 film Twister, arriving July 19.

“I love using my creativity for something else,” he said of penning the song he knew would be used in the movie. “As a songwriter, it was something that was just really fun.”

On the topic of movie soundtracks, Combs shared his personal favorite -- and one he listens to often — is the soundtrack from the 1994 film, Dumb and Dumber starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels

Dumb and Dumber [is] my favorite soundtrack,” he said without hesitation. “It’s not even that they were super iconic songs that transcend the movie, it’s just like, I love that movie so much and the songs.”

He continued, “To me, the soundtrack was so well made and put together for that particular movie. That’s one of my favorite movies ever so I could listen to that whole soundtrack — I have that soundtrack on vinyl actually.”
