BrothersOsborne are giving fans a little taste of everything with their self-titled, fourth studio album. A project they say is heavily influenced by some of their favorite musical icons and decades, the real-life brothers promise the project is something new and exciting for their fans.

“The more music you make, the less and less you have of what area you haven’t really charted into before,” TJOsborne told Rob + Holly of the brothers exploring new sounds for this project. “This time we were like, ‘we haven’t really done anything with like, synthesizers, or a few other things, or approached things differently,’ so that was a big part [of the inspiration].”

John added, “If you look at a lot of our influences…. You look at ZZ Top when they hit the ‘80s they just leaned into it. If you listen to [Bruce] Springsteen, he leaned into it with synthesizers and stuff like that and we tried it, it just seemed to really work with what we do.”

While the duo was excited to explore new territory with their music, they admit they were careful not to stray too far from the sounds their fans have enjoyed from past projects. “You do want to evolve so it doesn’t get boring — not only for us, but for the fans and everyone playing the music — but there is that element of you don’t want to lose whatever it was that people liked about you originally either,” said TJ. “That is the challenging part, but it’s what we love. We love creating, we love challenging ourselves.”

That’s exactly what John and TJ did as they co-wrote every song on the album, including the chart-climbing single, “Nobody’s Nobody,” where they preach acceptance, love, and inclusion.

“We live in a very divisive world,” John stated before diving deeper into the idea behind the lyrics. “We have quite progressive views on a lot of things, but we grew up with a lot of people that have very conservative views — a lot of our family is like that — and we all love each other and get along.”

He continued, “We truly believe that we can all get along and you do that by realizing that everyone is important… Nobody is literally Nobody. Everyone is someone, especially when it comes to those they love and we just wanted to convey that message in a very seemingly divisive time.”

Their music and lyrics continue to lead them to success as the reigning CMA Vocal Duo of the Year celebrate being nominated again in this category, hoping to take home their fifth win in the category and seventh CMA Award overall. Additionally, older brother, John, received a songwriting nomination in the Album of the Year category for his work on Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville. 

“It is amazing,” John said of the nomination. “We never feel like we deserve anything. No one, truly, is just entitled to anything. You get out there, you work, and when those things happen, we really stop and smell the roses because this business forces you to chase the carrot dangling from the end of the stick… A nomination stops you and forces you to realize that things are great and we’re very fortunate people.”

BrettYoung wants a lot of wonderful things for his young daughters, but a career in music is not one of them.

Known to share the spotlight with Presley (3) and Rowan (2) every now and then, welcoming them on stage to dance to the songs they inspired and star in the music videos, Brett Young shared with Audacy’s Rob + Holly that he hopes those appearances are the extent of their music “careers.”

“If my daughters decide the they’re absolutely in love with music and it’s the only thing that could absolutely make them  happy, I will 100% support,” he told Audacy’s Rob + Holly. “But if they have ten things that they like and music is just one of them, I’m going to support the other nine.”

Clarifying he absolutely loves his career, Young offered some more context into the sacrifices he makes in order to maintain his spot on radio sharing it’s only worth it if music is the only thing that makes you happy.

“If you can be happy doing anything but music, do anything but music,” Brett said, admitting that was a piece of advice it took him a while to understand. “Do something that makes you happy, and only do music if you absolutely have to.”

He continued, “This lifestyle is difficult and then you add family into the mix and it gets more difficult. You’re gone all the time and you’re flipping schedules once a week, sometimes twice a week and it is a grind. That doesn't take away from the 90 minute or 60 minutes on this tour on stage… the adrenaline is incredible… that part is always incredible…. But the schedule is a grind. It takes a toll on you and your body and your family.”

While it hasn’t been easy, Brett seems to have found a balance and according to him, it has a lot to do with the support of his wife, Taylor. Much of Brett’s success comes from songs inspired by their love, and his current single “Dance With You,” is a perfect example.

“I hate to dance,” he said, before diving into the deeper meaning behind the song. “The reason I used dance is because it’s something that I dislike this much, but I’m willing [to do it for her]…. You choose somebody that you want to share every life experience  with  and I just used dancing as the example.”

Brett Young | Friday Night Takeover

Cross-genre artist, JellyRoll, has come a long way since his days behind bars. Now, 15 Hip-Hop albums deep, celebrating multiple #1’s in Country Radio and recently charting Top 40 on Pop radio, the 38-year-old is ready to take this thing international.

“I’m starting to scare myself with my dreams now,” he told Audacy’s Rob + Holly, admitting he never would have been “bold enough” to dream this big in his troubled younger years.

“I’m shooting for the moon now — Madison Square Garden, baby” he exclaimed. “Man, I wanna go play the O2 Arena in London. I’m havin’ international dreams. I wanna go see the world. I wanna go see Egypt, I wanna go to Dubai. I want to take this thing everywhere, dude. I want to go to Italy, I want to eat pizza and ride on one of the little boats. I’m having dreams I never even thought was possible.”

The Nashville native has always been open with fans surrounding his troubled past including his struggles with addiction and the legal system. Instead of hiding from his truth, Jelly has boldly stepped up to to inspire, connect and educate fans all over. “I think my message to people is simply, ‘believe and dream,’” he shared. “I think at some points it wasn’t a belief that this thing was going to work for me, I think it was almost stupidity. At some point it was almost delusional, I bet people thought.”

There’s nothing “delusional” about Jelly’s success now… according to his wife, Bunnie, the only thing delusional about him was his thinking his hairstyle looked good before getting it cut last week. Jelly recently wow’d his fans with a clean cut after sporting long, mullet-style locks for the past several months, a look his wife was vocal about disliking.

“I finally cut it,” he told Rob + Holly while showing off the new look. “My wife had been telling me to cut it for six months, and you know how we are with the person we trust the most in our life— we think they’re bein’ a hater,” he laughed.

“It’s like, ‘I trust you with my life, my children, my finances, but you don’t have an opinion on my hair,’” he continued. “And then you cut your hair and you’re like, ‘why did nobody tell me I was lookin’ unkept?’ I was out here on red carpets wearin’ baseball caps lookin’ homeless.”
